I keep harping on about how ill disciplined this team is, we are forever giving reckless free kicks away around the penalty area and giving 4 penalties away in 3 games, needless bookings have put us at the bottom of the fair play league yet again, something pulis and Hughes don't seem to worry about

We were an imbecile away from 3 points today. Which is the only thing worth worrying about.

It was an incredibly disciplined, battling performance that should hopefully shut up all these cretins who whinge about 'identity'.

Don't care about the fair play league, but agree with regards daft free kicks in dangerous areas. What Pennant did was a schoolboy error and that is being unkind to schoolboys. There is no way of safely tackling a player from behind in the penalty area, 1 in a 1000 may get away with it.

I thought we were very disciplined today, apart from a certain player.

It's actually been bugging me recently how we seemed to have lost the ability to make physical challenges without giving away lots of silly fouls.
But I thought we were very good in the tackle today.
With obvious exceptions.

I thought the only decision Marriner got right all game was the penalty. He really is a shocking referee.

How does one man giving daft free-kicks away and a ridiculous penalty away count as "incredibly disciplined"? I thought our discipline was superb today. Until JP made his appearance - he was utter utter gash, not just his tackling but on the ball his stupid passing attempts, wrong pass and poorly executed every time gave the ball away every time he got it. Other than that - discipline could not be faulted.

How does one man giving daft free-kicks away and a ridiculous penalty away count as "incredibly disciplined"? Answered your own question there no? No, any team is only as strong as its weakest link and that was demonstrated today. Loaned Shea out but kept Pennant!

Two of the free kicks given were a particular disgrace. The first one was where N'Zonzi "fouled" one of them in a pretty central area about 20 yards out. Fair enough it might have been a foul but less than a minute later one of their did the same tackle on one of ours and he gave nothing.
The second was the third from Pennant I think. The shoulder barge where Baines went down like some fucker had shot him, it was never a foul and if You go down there You're a weak piece of diving shit. He got the free kick.

The argument that Pennant's rashness means the team wasn't disciplined generally is baffling. It shouldn't baffle you! Stoke ran up one of the highest no. of yellow cards this afternoon! And it's every single matchday so how does this constitute being disciplined? The fact that different individuals do indisciplined things in different matches means the whole team is indisciplined! Today it was Pennant but at Newcastle Whelan didn't exactly use his footballing brain did he?

You can't do that if you're not disciplined.

People seem to forget the side that Hughes had at Blackburn - a very dirty and cynical side that did anything and everything to win a game of football. Brilliant! I asked for that in October and gladly we seem to be moving towards that. A couple of broken bones when Arsenal come to town and the transformation into Pulisball done right will be complete. KUTGW Sparky!

Players going over easy and the inconsistency of refs are things I hate in this league. It seems we don't seem to get our fair share of the decisions.
