Cahill is an average defender but better with the ball at his feet.

Easily man of the match, he was outstanding. And he was bringing the ball out with ease and using it well too. A joy to watch.

Man of the Match, over Adam. (God knows how he got it instead)
Absolutely outstanding performance. Great distribution as well today. Had one of the best in form strikers in the league in his pocket all game.
The whole back four can take a bow today, brilliant defensively.
It only makes it that much more infuriating that one idiotic lunge from Pennant has cost us two points. Liverpool and United, our next two home games. 3 points would have been superb today.

MOTM, surprised they gave it to Adam tbh, not that he had a bad game mind.

Lukaku looked like absolute shite today and that is because of our centre halves.

I have always liked Ryan but his performance today was breath-taking. Despite the injury he is carrying, he looked totally assured and made Lukaku look very ordinary. Wilson was pretty good too and even Pieters improved second half.
Ironically I am a big JP fan...but he really lost the plot today. Just hope those 2 points don't cost us at season's end....JP won't care but we will.

He's been phenomenal for most of the season. Underrated if anything.

Whole back four was good today, Shawcross and pieters seem to be understanding each other, can't wait until we have geoff, shawcross, huth and pieters back playing together constantly, few attacking additions and we could be a force

Please, for the love of fucking god, lets put this 'Shawcross isn't good enough for England' nonsense behind us. An incredible performance by a bloke who just keeps stepping up to the plate, and laughing in the face of people who doubt him. 20 mins (against palace) and Swansea aside he's been fantastic all season. I'm so fucking glad he's here. I guarantee we won't here from his doubters today

If the lad stays fit and we stay in the top league he could be notching up Eric Skeels type appearance figures by the end of his career. None of the 'big' clubs will give him the credit he deserves (nor will the idiot in charge of England) so hopefully we will never have to sell!

I still find it hard to believe that some Stoke fans doubt his ability. He is a massive talent, his reading of the game and awareness is unequalled by any other England centre back. I never thought I'd say it but I prefer the Shawcross/Wilson partnership than the Shawcross/Huth partnership!!

Presumably the people responsible for awarding Adam MOTM were still pissed?

Have been saying this for a few years now,if Ryan played for a more 'fashionable' club he would be a regular in the England squad. Superb display today, well done Ryan.

I would say Ryan has grown to a new level while Huthy's been out injured - but the injury he's playing through himself does worry me, you can have too much willpower sometimes.

Awesome performance from Ryan today, Lukaku never had a sniff!
Can't imagine what the team said to Pennant in the changing room after the back four performed like that. Pennant must be on borrowed time and good riddance I say.

As i've said before, Huth is a liability in this kind of system and since Wilson has partnered Ryan his performances have blossomed. It will be an utter travesty if he is not on the plane to Brazil.
Well on his way to becoming a Stoke legend. Class.

Where's that poster saying Ryan had been shit this year and he's massively overrated?
I didn't need today's showing to know it was the biggest load of shit I've ever read but it certainly doesn't hurt to highlight it!

Crikey Bayern what are you on? My view was the whole back 4 put a decent shift in (not just defensively either) and if JP had stayed on the bench (what a liability) we would have 3 hard fought for points in the bank today. Would have been well deserved too against a well organised and classy Everton attack.

Ryan is easily in the Top 3 English central defenders but I very much doubt that he'll be in the squad for Brazil.
Those Arsenal bastards have (deliberately) done for his reputation and he plays for Stoke.

Absolutely fucking awesome Ryan, even the commentator loved you. Without him we'd be well and truly fucked. Defended superbly all round, great point. +1. I was thinking this but not saying anything early in the first half. He was awesome today. He was everywhere, covering, calm, organising, excellent captains performance. He could have managed the defence on his own he was that good today. Thank you, Ryan.
