I wonder now.. Do we see him in the FA Cup match with the Bego injury?
Saying that, Tommy doesn't seem the same as he once was..makes me wonder if he is more rusty than Jack is sharp. Like to see him given a chance.

Should have started today. Tommy had been a cracking servant for us but like others we have in the squad they are past it

Unless he was unsighted for the second goal that was poor, very slow went down like an owd oak tree

Whilst I'm gutted to lose Begovic, d'you lot honestly believe that Tommy's at fault for us shipping eight in the last two matches? We've got a back four like musical chairs for fucks sake

None of those goals was his fault, what a load of bollocks.

Tommy's been shot since Bego replaced him and Butland isn't anywhere near being ready for the Premier league IMO

If Butland still isn't good enough to get a game, I've got to say I wonder why did we bother buying him at all. Hopefully he'll come good although I do have my doubts.

The defence never had confidence in tommy years ago. Good shot stopper but kicking, crosses and commanding his area ive said on here for years

I think Butland has got to be given his chance against Leicester. Sadly whether his fault or not Sorensen is simply letting in far too many goals

I don't disagree that Tommy needed dropping when Bego made the place his, that was only ever a matter of time. I don't know much about Butland but I'd be very wary of putting such a young lad behind that makeshift back four. Under the circumstances, Tommy would always get the nod for me, perhaps that's short sighted but that's my gut feeling.

Well he just needs to be given his chance at a higher level, it's the only next step he can take really. Truthfully, he deserves to start the FA Cup match, it's our policy it seems to give the Number 2 our Cup and European fixtures, and if he really impresses then maybe he can get his big shot. Think it makes sense to play him v Leicester, and on our way to Wembley again, so we can monitor his actual match progess.

He's 20 for crying out loud, how many 20 year old goalkeepers are there playing in the Premier League? The fact that he's so close to being ready and might even be ready says a lot about him and his talent.

I wouldn't be surprised nor would i be disappointed to see Butland start in the FA Cup match next weekend. It would be an ideal chance for him to make his competitive debut for us, against a side who currently play at the level that Jack has been competing at for the first half of this season. Coincidentally as it may turn out to be, he made his debut for Barnsley against Leicester City in September at The King Power Walkers Smiths Filbert Street Bid D's Nuts Stadium in a game they lost 2-1. Quoting the BBC match report "The Foxes created several chances in the first half but were denied by debutant Tykes goalkeeper Jack Butland." Gerrim in!

Calm down, is he a relation of yours? .........I hope you are right though because a young age isn't necessarily a barrier to playing at the highest level, if a player is sufficiently talented. Mind you my uncertainty is more due to recent English national goalkeepers and there unreliability. I hope he turns out better than the likes of Green and Carson.

It just annoys when I read what I think is total utter shite (just being honest sorry). And it's not a barrier but when saying things like "If Butland still isn't good enough to get a game, I've got to say I wonder why did we bother buying him at all." You have to take age into account and when You do and the position he's playing in (that's key too), it makes that comment look utterly ridiculous imo.

Sorro made some good saves today, maybe could have done better with the 2nd goal overall he had a good game and wasn't to blame for the result. The defence is a shambles at the moment, we're definitely missing Huth and Begovic.
I think we should stick with Sorro for the Everton game, give Butland a chance in the cup.

You are not entirely getting my point, being snippy and irritable does that to a person ( maybe you should try being less easily annoyed...just being honest.....sorry ), Butland isn't in our youth squad or anything he is the England u21 keeper and is getting a regular game in the Championship ( which is more physically demanding than the Prem. I would say ) so my point is that given our current keeper woes I would hope that the management think that he can cut it if given a chance.....at least I hope so anyway.

I get Your point, as I've said though I just think it's a bit cack! How do You know they don't? I don't think anyone expected him to come straight in over Sorro and rightly so. And when it comes to 'keepers the age thing is a massive difference. He's a baby in goalkeeping terms. I expect him to play against Leicester and then be loaned out again and then be our no1 next season.

There's loads of "cack" points made here on here on a daily basis I would say, some are even made by me and no doubt some are made by you too . If there were no conflicting opinions on here it sure would be boring though............can we at least agree on that?

The lads never played a premier league game yet you want to throw him at Spurs away for his PL debut where after Spurs strikers he'd probably be the busiest player on the field, unbelievable I really do question the sanity of some folk on here Sent from my C6603 using proboards
