One thing I havent seen much mention of though I may have just missed it was Newcastle bringing on another striker with the game already decided.
The move instantly made me dislike Newcastle more yhan any other team. Here it would be seen as unsportmanlike and everyone would be mad at you.. Do you lads see it the same or would you want to improve goal difference at all costs? I just want to see the move as you see it and not as an outsider looking in.

If I was their manager, I'd go for the kill and wouldn't give a fuck.

Professional.
I don't think anyone would view it as bad sportsmanship over here.

They should have let Atkinson take that last penalty.

The barcodes' saw a chance to improve their goal diff and took it. Only one man to blame for today's farce but sadly he will be never held to account by the FA.

It's the logical move, ref gave them a blank cheque to improve their goal difference so they wanted to make the most of it. Can't really blame them. They should be embarrassed by the whole experience and avoid taking any credit though.

Over here once the game has been decided you let off the gas so to speak. But then again goal differential means next to nothing in most of our sports.

Seems like good management to me. Get the strikers on for the feeding frenzy and there's an opportunity for a lot of confidence boosting ahead of the congested schedule where squad rotation becomes a necessity.

It always drives me a bit made even in the last minute when they take three knees to bring the game to a conclusion even when they're getting hammered and nothing can be saved!

The idea with that is the W is all that matters. If they dont take the knee and an important player gets hurt, it could change your season. If you score, it motivates the other team to not go dor blood so to speak in the future.

Would it have been unsportsman like of us to bring on two guys we have no intention of playing next match to get reds so we could have taken the 3_0 forfeit and save the legs of those we plan to use?
