Did anyone else see the altercation between the older chap and young lad?
The old bloke was sitting down and kept shouting at the lad in front to sit down too as he couldn't see. When he ignored him he called him a c*nt and grabbed him round the neck, not the kind of behaviour you'd expect from someone that age.
He took a bit of abuse from a few folk and buggered off elsewhere.
Best part of the first half for me.

Well You'd have to in that part of the ground and at the game itself to have spotted it. Thanks for the input though.

yup pretty much happened right behind me. The chap sitting was not a usual visitor to that area as the back of block 25 pretty much always stand. I kept my trap shut as I have been in too many altercations up theer in the past

People who stand up and block others view behind, whether that be at football matches, concerts, theatres, cricket matches are totally inconsiderate selfish c..ts and need ejecting by security or a good hiding to teach them a lesson - but I'm afraid the latter don't have the balls

Likewise for away games I try and get seats near the back for the same reason. I like to stand but don't want to ruin some other Stokies day. Chill a bit, it's Christmas.

Bring back terraced areas and we wouldn't have this problem. It's an unwritten rule, back of the stands, we'll stand when we want In fact, they're even called 'stands' !

Sidders, Sorry but is Block 2 the Family Stand ? If it is then the person was wrong swearing in front of the children. If not, then that is where the people with children should be sitting. That is why they have a family stand !!! I am a bit old fashioned and wouldn't 'f & blind' in front of young children but to be honest it really pisses me off that I feel obliged not to swear if someone sits near me with a young child. Cheers, Adie

It looks like not swearing is a bit like giving up smoking? You have to contain yourselves in certain areas of the ground, then go out for a quick swear?
Do you all stand in a little huddle, away from the wind and rain, and say "Bugger, bollocks, fuck, shit, wank ..." Whilst non swearers look at you as if you are lepers?
The Gov't will be helping out with all of this in due course ..... some sort of patches (something like that I have been told). They cost the same price as a packet of fags, and you stick em over your gob. Actual price should be 50p, but taxes make them £5.20.
Our Gov't is fully committed to wiping out swearing, and cares. Think of the children!
Trials in Sweden have found them to be most effective.

The only part of the ground that swearing should be frowned upon in my opinion is the family stand. I totally understand it's offensive, but we're all adults it should be water off a ducks arse. I've never understood shielding kids from swearing anyway, it exists, you aren't going to stop them learning it. If they don't learn it in the ground they'll learn it in school, simple really. It's all about how you educate them afterwards, making sure they don't go round f'ing this and that when it comes to a job interview etc etc.
...and as far as I'm concerned being told by some johnny-come-lately to refrain from swearing, in the place I've spent many a cold wet evening while they were probably watching Manchester United on the TV, is a bit of an insult. Jog on.

When my dad took me in early eighties there was swearing. And? Its a bloody football match not the theatre.
If I took my daughter in the family stand and someone was swearing id smack them. If I took her anywhere else in the stadium id think, it's a football stadium it happens.
What when the whole stadium sings ashley young you're a wanker?
May I suggest taking them with big ear defenders?
