Do some still think he's an articulate Johnny Foreigner with no idea about football? Or do some think he's an articulate Johnny Foreigner who is light years ahead of the last two Stoke managers?

I've been saying it for 3 or 4 years. Great manager. Hysterical to think some didn't want him here.

I remember the clueless pricks saying he's always fighting relegation blah blah ,NO SHIT! with those resources at Wigan no surprise eh but we still couldn't beat them could we,certainly not away under Dulls Ever and if Martinez had his budget we would be in dream land. Look at him now.
He knows how to produce quality football.

If he was here we would still be in the bottom half, some of our players cant be technically improved , no matter what Manager is in charge.

If he was here we would still be in the bottom half, some of our players cant be technically improved , no matter what Manager is in charge. We've got some pretty decent players. Martinez, being a pretty decent coach can identify those players and adds to them and puts the hours in on the training ground to get the best out of the players at his disposal. He lost one of the main players in Fellaini and replaced him with a better player (McCarthy) who was £10m cheaper. Everton must be pissing themselves, paid a fortune in compensation for a manager who took them as far as he could and replaced by someone far better.

Kevand the bug, spot on. He has dropped on a great squad, who could already play. Hughes has dropped on a poor squad who can,t play. We need better!

I was wrong about Martinez. He's doing fantastically well.
His record at Wigan did deserve scrutiny though as there were plenty of question marks about his ability to organise a defence.

To be fair Rob I still think there are question marks over it. He hasn't really had to replace anybody yet the only defender he signed in the summer Alcarez I dont think has played yet. The team he inherited was defensively well organised anyway. I'll be interested to see who he signs if Baines leaves. Barry is filling in there at the moment but he's only on loan.

Quite possibly Dan. I play six aside with an Everton fan and he isn't entirely convinced by them so far.

I was wrong about Martinez. He's doing fantastically well. His record at Wigan did deserve scrutiny though as there were plenty of question marks about his ability to organise a defence. The first thing he did when competitive football started was to sack off the preposterous 3 centre back system that saw him single handedly transform a mid table team to relegation fodder. Now they're playing quite well and it'll be interesting to see if they maintain this for the rest of the season and beyond. .
