It was obvious after the Anfield Abortion that we were going down. Remember the Silly Billys who thought that was 'promising'. Nice to see you back on the message board after your week's sabbatical. Give him some slack. To be fair his ancestors were seen buying black shirts and swastikas after Dunkirk.

Well said WD.
There are plenty of teams looking just as shit if not a bit shitter than us.

We've just been slapped by 4 (could and should have been more) and a defeat at home to a relegation rival will kill us. We have to win. Huge pressure. Do we get less than 0 points for losing by 4? Fulham lost again. As did Palace. Sunderland got a point. Jesus, it isn't time to slit wrists. We'll beat Cardiff on Wednesday and we'll be world cup winners. So fickle. 3 points midweek. Bookmark this thread. Just back: Play like today and we won't beat Cardiff! We've not played well for weeks - tell me the last time we played well and won - I won't except last week because this was not a good performance.

We're not going down ffs. Theres at least 3 teams, probably more, who are far worse than us. Everton are a very good side. They were missing Baines and Miralles, but were able to bring in Oviedo and Deoulfeou.
This was always going to be a season of transition. I've been encouraged enough by the performances under Hughes, even if we're not getting the points on the board. Beat Cardiff on Wednesday and we're sitting pretty in mid table again

The obvious thing to those with more than a couple of brain cells is to give the man a chance. And a proper chance.
I do think the Cardiff game is important though and will tell us a bit more about where we're at.

Never been outclassed at Everton in 6 years 3-1 defeat in the first season? I wouldn't say so Rob, we were shite in that first half back then but in that second half we had a proper go and got them rattled. If memory serves, after Shawcross pulled a goal back at the start of the second half we had them on the ropes for a while and should have scored a couple more. Today we just didn't turn up.

Nip and tuck season.... Said do from the beginning. Whatever it is, it's better than the last two seasons IMO. The TP era ended in a dead end, no new ideas, no progression... Nowt. At least the current issues are part of change...

Manure sit 10 points behind the leaders with Moyes while Everton walk 4 past us with Martinez. Coincidence?

At least the current issues are part of change... No better or worse than last season. Last season no idea about going forward but solid and organised in defending. This season bit better going forward but no idea about defending. I think the plan would have been to slowly improve our attacking ideas but not to lose our strength in being solid. Any supporters expect to see improvements when a manager is replaced and that's at any level. Usually the previous manager would have been sacked due to poor performances. The lack of £M for the new manager to spend and players we have got not been good enough is just a fucking excuse because we have seen no improvement or positives at all under Hughes. Let's hope he knows what he is doing as if no change and Bego goes in Jan we could be in deep shit.

How do you know it wasn't hard? because the last 6 months under Pulis away was dire. I wasn't expecting massive improvements but I can honestly say I was hoping for a little more than what's on show and if you're happy with it si far we will have to agree to disagree. I hope I'm on here in a few months time saying you were right and I was talking out of my arse. But right now it's not me talking out of my arse.!!!! It's shit.

Why have Man City been struggling? Both clubs taken over by excellent managers with not much wrong in their teams. We need to give MH time. How long did TP take to turn things around in his first stay?
