Perhaps even because his reasoning for the choice comes across derogatory and patronising to both player and club. The bloke is a tool.

Well done Garth although I am not sure everyone on here would go along with the "renowned for his work rate" part but you have to say that is some stat at the end of the short description which sort of backs it up.
MIDFIELDER - STEVEN NZONZI (Stoke) Stoke midfielder Steven Nzonzi Made one goal and scored the other. A player more renowned for his work rate than his goal scoring prowess. But even the Frenchman couldn't disguise his surprise when referee Kevin Friend sent off Wes Brown for what appeared to be a perfectly reasonable tackle. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet was so incensed he couldn't keep his coat on.
Did you know? Nzonzi has attempted 726 passes in the Premier League this season, nearly 300 more than the next Stoke player Erik Pieters (448).

So Garth Crooks finally picks a Stoke player..... and instead of focussing on how well he played, and he did to be fair, Crooks brings up the Wes Brown challenge.
What a fucking nugget.

Won't be happy with what? Nzonzi or Crooks team of the week? Certainly not happy with Nzonzi just at the minute, he did really well for the assist and took his goal superbly but i just feel he could be a vast amount better than he's showing week in week out at the moment. I don't feel he's doing enough dirty work, the presence of Whelan in the middle meant we got away with Nzonzi's lack of running off the ball this week. I'd also like to see him be a bit more positive on the ball in terms of moving forward with teh ball at his feet, and a bit more snappy with his distribtion. It looks nice when he takes position stands dead still until a player approaches, then sneaks the ball away, but sometimes i feel he's doing it too much when there are better options on.

I think people are being over critical of him at the moment. For many games this season, he's been pretty much in the midfield on his own. It's been an impossible task at times. I don't see a lack of running either. He can appear moody & carefree, but I haven't seen him stop working. He's a good all round midfielder who keeps it short & simple & keeps us ticking over, which is a positive. I do agree that he could be even better & have a much greater influence, but think he gets unjustified stick.
