Just got to watch the game last night and a mate and I could not believe how many times Pete got back as far as his own penalty box to defend. Our so called captain was alot to blame for our down fall as he does not seem to be directing our backs or mid field as he should. One of their goals Pete had got back and 2 backs, 1 either side of a Swansey player let him give them the slip and scored. Pete was telling them to open their eyes and mark up, he was not very pleased.

I'm not his biggest fan but he has a renewed spring in his step since he was recalled and has played really well. Only seen glimmers but some of the link up play between Crouch/Ireland/Arnie leaves me feeling confident when we hopefully click as a unit.....

He was MOTM for me yesterday. Won everything in the air, got two good assists, especially the second, and defended very well when needed.

Our so-called captain?
Christ, why do you bother supporting a team just to slag our players off?
To me Shawsy epitomises everything about Stoke. Doesn't take any shit, throws himself into the breach, well-behaved and courteous of the pitch. Now he's a so-called captain. This is the man who led us to, and on to the pitch, at Wembley.
Having said all that, I agree with the sentiments about Crouch. A bit more value for the £10m is good news!

If he has a bad game or makes a mistake then he shouldn't be beyond criticism but that crack from one of our 'so called supporters' is out of order. I do agree that Crouch is performing much better of late.

But like all, he has his off days and he just to me does not seem to be leading as he has shown in the past. I support this team and have done so for 40 years and if one can't criticise players through observation without being called a bad supporter. I do wonder how we would ever evolve under your stewardship.

You can think what you want, and my stewardship is an unlikely event, so don't worry I do find it weird that you'd say 'so called captain'. I can't see many leaders in our team, and Ryan is about the best I think.

Captains are leaders and the better captain shows under pressure. He is made out to be the best all the time, to me in this game he was not as great as we have seen him and this could be why I have referred to him as our so-called.

Shawcross is not a good captain What constitutes a good captain then? Someone who sits in the dressing room eating a raw chicken leg before screaming in the face of every single player as some sort of team team and then goes on to punch a hole in the wall on his way out......

shawcross is a natural captain and an excellent player
his form has been very poor for some time though and it is massively concerning. I do wonder if its time he moved on to rejuvenate his career. i'd swap him for lescott plus 8 million

Hardly the most youthful centre back pairing.

I'm convinced no prem team outside the bottom 6 or 8 would make a move for him
