Only one of our 10 league games this season has been settled by a margin greater than one goal. If we start scoring, we will start winning games. We are close to where we need to be i think. A bit more time and Hughes will start getting the balance right in my opinion.

And in that one game that ended 3-1 the score line flattered them tossers.

you make a great point actually. And many of those games we missed valuable opportunities to win. Man city, man utd, west brom, southampton all could have been won with a little bit of composure infront of goal. The good signs are there atleast.

I think it's important that people realise there are very fine margins in football - just look at arsenal v dortmund tonight where had dortmund won by 3 then arsenal couldn't have complained - but they didnt. New managers often take time to settle - but we aren't far off having a decent side. Hughes will only grow more familiar with his players in time. We just have to make sure the pressure isn't too great on him and give him the benefit of the doubt for at least another 10 games I think and we will be fine.

Next two games will hopefully be 4 points. Sunderland game should be a gudun and we should take maximum points - a draw in this one will not be good enough.

teams that keep coming on the wrong side of that fine line usually get relegated
there is no time to waste now, we need a win in the next two games

Walters pen miss v Liverpool Cost us a point.
Walters 2 sitters v man city cost us 2 points.
Walters sitter at old tipford to go 2-0 Cost us big time because they were wobbling.
So 4 points dropped because of one inept wank player!
Walters out
We would be sitting on 13 pts in 11th!

Yeh, only Walters misses apparently Well I'd at least like to see how we went for say 5 to 8 games without him to finally put the argument to bed, if there's no change in our general quality then I would gladly shut the fuck up........I promise.

It's a good job other teams have players worse than Walters then, this is what the scores would have been had shots on target gone in! Liverpool 7 Stoke 4 Stoke 4 Palace 5 Arsenal 8 Stoke 3 Fulham 2 Stoke 1 Stoke 2 Man C 3 Man U 5 Stoke 5 Stoke 1 Norwich 3 Stoke 3 Southampton 2 Stoke 3 West Brom 5

The OP makes a very fair point. Hijacked by the usual anti-Walters clap trap. In fact if our midfield and defense had gotten its act together better when the side was in the lead we would be in a good league position. This is an issue a good management team should be able to address so hopefully Mr Hughes and his guys are on the case.

Not that I believe JW is the only problem at the moment but it would be a good place to start.

Not been hijacked at all nearly getting it right involves MH experimenting with and without players in important positions but we seem to avoid experimenting with JW's starting place.

The fact that we'd only have 4 points is irrelevant.......

I'm still confident we'll get better, I just hope Sparky starts to be a bit more ruthless. We've seen Hart get dropped for his awful performances of late. Well, for me, N'Zonzi needs dropping, send a kick up his arse that he isn't in the team unless he sorts his lazy-arse attitude out.

The same description could be applied to Moyes who inherited a fantastic squad and shed loads of money. It shows that change brings problems until it has bedded in.
