I haven't seen a thread on him on here. Surely he'll never put a Stoke shirt on again? Simply an appalling cameo, beyond hopeless. You were wincing every time he went near the ball since he would almost immediately lay it off three yards to a Southampton player.
He's been roundly slated on here, but bringing him on for Whelan completely surrendered the midfield battle.

We were better second half with Palacios on the pitch.
This is in no way a dig at Glen Whelan, who I personally think should have had much more game time this season, just my own observation.

After his piss poor performance at Brum I'm surprised he made the bench - But hey Hughes seems to rate him and stopped him going to Hull as we needed him. Nearly as bad a decision as re-signing Pennant.

If we were better in the second half I don't think it was because of Palacios. I remember him giving the ball away, but don't remember him doing much else. But heh, like you said it's just personal observation.

Hes a terrible woeful excuse for a player. For some reason certain people think he will come good one day..I can assure you he wont. He just does a lazy midfield job i.e short easy passes and points around alot. As someone said on another thread "hes shitter than shit" Quite an apt description of him I think.

At first when he came on I thought he looked very dodgy and gave the ball away a lot however he grew into the game later on.

sadly, I think we may see a merry go round of Palacios - Whelan - and Wilson in midfield till January. Each in turn being replaced by one of the other two following yet another dreadful performance. My only hope is the MH decides he might as well give Muniesa a try (it could hardly be worse) or shifts Cameron into midfield. If the latter, however, I'll just end up having nightmares about the RB slot instead!

Whelan ain't a world beater but anyone who thinks that palacios is a better option is clearly on something, the man was an utter disgrace. One of the worst showings by an individual in red and white in the prem years. I was no tp fan, but he was right about this waster.

Palacios had a shocker yesterday. He's got a good knack of managing to take himself out of the game nearly every time by committing himself too soon, and allowing the player to pass it round him and run off him.

I always thought it was £8 million? Still what's £2 million between a manager who lost the plot and a fucking abysmal footballer.

Palacios is a bad egg heard from many people connected to the club after his first training session he made it clear he didn't want to play for Pulis.

Exactly why I don't understand when Hull came in for him Hughes said he was in his plans and wanted to keep him. He's supposed to be like new signing!!! We all know he's shit so why play him - he never got a look in last season and you can tell why - Useless

I thought he was better than Whelan and we looked a better side with him and Assaidi on. I can't agree. We were at our best in the opening fifteen minutes, when we played in their half, pressed high up the pitch and caused them problems. In the second half we were a clear second best.

I see things totally differently. We were much better second half and had the ball in the final third far more often than we did in the first half when we were, by and large, utterly dreadful.

I thought we were great for the first quarter of the match, awful in the second. Then after halftime we were pretty good. So, better as a whole in the second half, but more likely to score in the first 20 minutes or so.

I can't think of a slower, more one paced plodder we've had in midfield in the last 30 years. He makes Keith Downing look dynamic.
Unfortunately MH appears to rate him, until he realises he's dog shit we're going to have to put up with him.

I see things totally differently. We were much better second half and had the ball in the final third far more often than we did in the first half when we were, by and large, utterly dreadful. I can see this isn't going to go very well. I just felt that we seemed to have a clear gameplan early on and it seemed to be working - they were pinned back and although one was admittedly a very flukey goal, we could easily have been two up after ten minutes. After that we faded and got progressively worse, in my opinion. In the first half we forced them to go long fairly frequently and won the second ball more often than not. In the second half we were second to everything and a number of players just gave up. I can't agree. We were at our best in the opening fifteen minutes, when we played in their half, pressed high up the pitch and caused them problems. In the second half we were a clear second best. Whelan was utter garbage. I can't remember the last time he wasn't. Hyperbole. I'll get absolutely slated for this but I thought Whelan yesterday was better than either of the Wilsons have been all season. Unlike Palacios, for example, he wasn't strolling/squatting about the place pretending to be interested and then giving the ball away.

Right because he spent £6M on him and decided to pay him well over £1M a year to do fuck all? I wish TP had been "right" about me.
