Yup. And a military aircraft would never identify itself so specifically. True, still it's nice to think both iranian and argentine air defences speak perfect english too, I'd file it alongside the US warship / Lighthouse conversation as Abraham Lincoln said in 1864 the problem with internet quotes is that you can't always depend on their accuracy" English is the International Language for Air Traffic Control certainly. It would follow logically that radio operators in national airborne early warning communities would also have a good command of English to communicate with civilian aircraft.

Good point I hadn't considered and you obviously have more knowledge of this than me but I do still doubt it actually happened for the reasons mentioned previously.

When has truth ever got in the way of a good story on this MB though?

When has truth ever got in the way of a good story on this MB though? Why is Follow You Down such a parsimonious old queen? Is this still the new username for me game if so Attila the Hun is still the best, but a more inventive attempt than your previous "depressing c**t or "pain in the arse" tries so a big to you. After reading your last two posts aimed at me, if you are ever offered a penny for your thoughts mate can I suggest you snap their hands off

On a messageboard you can have a lovely time. Or you can snipe at people if you like. I like the Oatcake mate but you are always having a go at me. Just because I got a few opinions on things that you don't agree with doesn't give you the right to call me or anyone "limited" etc.
So stop having a pop, and just get on with people. It's easy. Even when me and Salop fall out, it's never personal. It's a Stoke messageboard at the end of the day and I love my club and I'll always love my fellow Stokies. You just don't feel like one.
I've got a couple of season tickets at home, let me take you to a game if you don't believe me. I love the club man, but that's not my limit.
Stop having a go at me!

I suggest you go back and read this thread in reply to a post where I simply pointed out this exchange did not happen, you responded by suggesting I should change my username to "depressing c**t or "pain in the arse" obviously not as personal as calling someone "limited" So this has nothing to do with your opinions being different unless you count thinking I'm a "depressing c**t" as an opinion in which case we do have different opinions as I'm not depressing Thanks for the offer and hopefully you won't think this is having a go but I've got plenty of mates to go to games with, I'll just stick to ignoring you in the future it's not worth the bother responding as for some reason you seem to take particular umbrage with me, lifes too short and all that.

You should listen to a few French ATC recordings. English is SUPPOSED to be the international language, but you try telling them that.
