Pleased with that. Can't ask for more than a home game and what chance Man Utd again needing six forwards/wingers and all being fit!! Oh dear. Just realised that we'll have suspensions by then. But we'll have learned how to defend, by then. Bring it on!

Just glad we are at home after last nights debacle on the M6.
Should be a cracking night under floodlights. Love a night match when it's -45 at the Brit!
More hot pies than normal that night :-)

How many tickets will we get for this chaps? Probably the whole South Stand, so roughly 4k. The South Stand is between 4,500 and 4,800 I think.

Fantastic draw chance for the supporters to make a difference because we all know the shit will bus them in from everywhere as you well know mate, their away support is as staunchly loyal and local as most. If you expect an away end full of tourists you will be very mistaken.

We need to get the Brit rocking again like the olden days for this one, its the one advantage we will have over them and may just see us over the line.

They will have the whole south stand 15 quid (certainly no more than a score to get in ) Full house. What a night. Your best mate will get gready and take 35 quid off a full south stand and stich you up. Sould be 20 quid and 15 for Season ticket holders

I KNOW it will be Manchester City v Leicester City Chelsea v Sunderland/Southampton Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United Manchester United v Stoke City To have 100% forecast ALL four matches and 3 out of 4 of the home teams is quite remarkable - well done. Shouldn't the footballing fixers administration be just a touch concerned that this was done 4 hours before the draw - and even before some games had finished tonight?, given that fans could say up front that the four top teams would all be fixed likely to be seeded - to ensure the S/F and Final would draw the best payola crowds for the TV clubs involved?

Fcku the 3 points on saturday, lottery numbers if you please Just in case the upstanding gentleman is now in hiding, for fear the Football League will be prosecuting his leek (personally, I prefer them fried in butter, but that's just me) ... This isn't quite lottery winning stuff, but I'll be following his betting tips quite closely. Now then ... learning maths at Stupidly Thick's School Fore Boys wasn't easy ... And they named the place after me ... so someone else may be able to do probabilities much better than me (indeed, having asked them, both of our cats claim they can do probabilities better than me). But here goes: Ignoring the home/away reversal (as next week's lottery winner did himself), there were 28 possible ties. So there was a 1 in 28 chance of being correct in his first selection (and as he was correct) a 1 in 15 chance of bring correct in his second selection (and as he was correct) a 1 in 6 chance of bring correct in his third selection (and obviously he wasn't going to get the last selection wrong, given the dear fellow got the other 3 correct) So I believe ... given my schooling, as detailed above ... there was a 0.04% chance of correctly forecasting all 4 ties when Mr Hhhhhhhancock set off on his endevour. (because I think one multiplies each chance ... after each pick ... but again, see my schooling) To put that into context, Our Friend In The Homburg would be able to pick the winner of a horse race with 2500 runners. (like I say, I'll be following his tips) Please feel free to shoot me down, I'm used to it ... Oh and yes, just in case Mr Dense is reading (or at least, having this read to him) ... "Eye must apollogize to the staf at Stupidly Thick's School Fore Boys ... Yes I should have paid attention, no I know longer fink skiving up 'Castle gets me a better educashun, no I cant return the bell we melted it down".

It's going to be very interesting to see how they price this, specifically because the club know they are guaranteed to sell 4,500 tickets in the South Stand, regardless of how expensive those tickets are.
By way of example:
28,000 tickets at £20 a pop will realise £560k, however 19,500 (the 4,500 ManU plus 15,000 Stokies) at £30 a pop will realise £585k.
I'm assuming that we would sell AT LEAST 15,000 tickets for the match if they were £30 each but what if we were to sell even more, maybe we could even still possibly get near to selling it out at that price?
The interesting bit, is that the club know they are going to sell 4,500 tickets for certain (at even £40!) and they're going to have to work out how much of the price they set for those tickets can then be stomached by the rest of the stadium.
Of course you also have to consider how much of an impact the pricing will have on catering revenue too.
I'll be surprised if they're less than £25.

Would it be legal to go for a mix and match option of a full price of, say, £35, with a £10 discount for season ticket holders of £25? That would upset those Stokies who are not ST holders but might guarantee most ST holders would come and, of course, it would get £35 per head from the 4,500 Man Utd fans. Personally, if I were the club I'd want 28,000+ in the ground and I think we could do it at £20 per adult. A full stadium probably gives us the best chance of progressing. Man Utd would have to agree, of course. I don't think catering revenue is a factor. The catering is franchised out and the club is not on a share of the takings as far as I know.

It's a good point but I reckon the club will do the right thing and go for the full house. £20 and concessions max. Above £25 that time of year and we're looking at a few thousand empty seats.

Big decision, because if we price our own fans out of it, we are faced with United in our stands. Know lots of their lads from their zine and the League Cup is loved by those priced out of Old Trafford and they will shift any allocation.
Plus, do we really want a Citeh scenario from last year: 4800 in the away end and a half empty home end.
£20 absolute max, for me.

A great chance for the club to lay down a serious marker again and show they genuinely do give a shit about the fans.
Give the game back to the people Coatesy.....you know it makes sense.
A full house roaring Stoke on to repeat our greatest ever achievement thirty years on.

I'm back from an evening with Russell Grant and Uri Geller, what? the bender? I will no longer use my extra-testicular powers to predict anything in future, rest assured, i have never predicted anything and i never will. My fortune cookie said to me, in a loud cookie like rhyming voice "don't play Wilson on Saturday and you may not give soft goals away" It's a sign from the Cosmos! That you can get good deals on cheap package holidays by simply visiting their easy to use website. Here's one for ya, my wife woke me up last night, so i said "What have you woken me up for?" she said "You forgot to take your sleeping pills!" That's all from Mystic Megs....Hancock this week

Tues, 17th December, according to the Beeb fixtures. They've got a trip to Ukraine the week before (Shaktar Donetsk), then Villa away on the Sunday, just two days before, so I'm not quite sure what that would mean for their team selection (fitness levels). Having said that, they'll probably ask for a Wednesday switch. Can they do that? Edit - The Donetsk game is at home. Our mid-week home games have moved to Wednesdays anyway after Sparky arrived. I would imagine that and the fact that MU are playing on the Sunday will push it to the 18th. They also have at least 2 Champs League games before that date, which could be a help for us??
