as much as we are desperate for the win, it will be great to see Jack Cork on a football pitch once again after his near-death grass-burn last December.
Sometimes, things are so much more important than 22 men kicking a pig's bladder about, covered in crap tattoos and having 5-haircuts-in-1. I for one will take a sombre moment to thank the good Lord that young Jack isn't at the pearly gates to meet his maker.

Thank you, Bunny, for reminding us that football is just a game, it's not life.
Just thinking about this brave man and his long fight to get those stains out of his shorts is bringing tears to my eyes.
I think we need to start a campaign to get people to show their support and wear little twists of ribbon pinned to their chests, like those aids and breast cancer ones. Maybe green and brown stripes would be an appropriate colour.

Oh! (Shakes head mournfully and dabs at eyes.) CORKY'SSHORTSGATE……… Yes - truly a day that went down in history as the whole world held its breath with the plucky lad being cruelly brought so close to death by that evil patch of turf. (Emits a little sob.)
And let's not forget that the last Pope was so traumatised by the event that he had to resign……. plus the cardinals who rushed over here for the devoted bedside vigil are still suffering from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Shorts Disorder) and will apparently 'be in therapy for YEARS'.
Love the idea of the brown and green striped lapel ribbons, by the way, ohbott - a stroke of absolute genius. I shall be proudly sewing mine as soon as I've posted this.
I just hope my tear-brimmed eyes won't bugger the effin' stitchin' up.

In a lot of ways Jack Cork is a bit like Rambo. No, not the fictional character who goes round killing people, the real Rambo, Aaron Ramsey. Two players struck with horrific injuries, close to blindness, and retardation in both sides of their brain. May we all wish Jack Cork a happy return to normality.
