It seems that whenever we have sold players over the past few years they have always dropped down to the Championship.They very rarely (if ever)go to another Premier League club. This trend just seems to continue from season to season which is simply not good enough considering the money spent and quite frankly its an embarrassment.
Which members of the current squad do you think fit this category and what percentage of the squad do they represent? It will be interesting to see opinions as I feel we have way too many which is contributing to our poor form over the last 12+ months.

Excluding Bego, Geoff and Huth, all of em have been dire.
I reserve judgement for Arnie and Agudelo (when he arrives)
Excluding those above, none of them have filled me with any enthusiasm so far this season.
Whether that's there own personal skills (or lack of), or team tactics I aren't sure, but it's bleak viewing.

If we had as many championship players as you suggest we would not have stayed in the premiership for 5 years. Hughes declared himself happy with the quality of players at his disposal and now he's got to deploy them effectively. He managed it against West Ham and Citeh but latterly has been inept in the extreme.

I was under the impression that all we needed was a new manager to change the style as we had the players to do it. Now it's the players are good enough - if that doesn't work would it be new owners we need? Not sure about the next step after that!

They've played well. Some posters will defend our last 3 shit performances with every excuse under the sun. It's up to Hughesy to get them playing again. |

Well definite championship players for me include:- Butland, Whelan, Pennant, Palacious, Jones, Shea, Etherington, Wilson, Edu, Ness, Wilkinson, Jones, Crouch, Walters, Adam. I will guarantee that when these guys leave us with their bulging Louis Vuitton wallets they will drop down a league. I'll reserve judgement on the new guys until the end of the season.

Exactly..The only players you can see going to other Prem teams are Beggo, Ryan, & Huth. How poor is that for a reasonably established Premier League team.

From the starting 11 on Saturday Walters and Wilko would be the only championship standard players. We also have a pub league standard player in the form of Charlie Adam. The rest are all premier league standard, whether that be lower or higher reaches. Individually they are premier standard but as a team there not and that issue lies with Hughes.
The bench and reserves are filled with championship standard players.
