Our all round game has improved. We are keeping possession and taking the game to the opposition, and we are restricting them to very few chances. The problem is we are not creating enough ourselves, so we either tweek our game to create more chances, or we sign a striker who can score from only one or two chances a game (big money?).
Either way, we need to lose the dead wood. The likes of Etherington & Whelan should not play for us again, thanks for everything but cheerio. Walters has his uses but should only be played in certain situations/matches where hard work (and little skill) is required.
Interestingly, WBA are our next opposition, and when I watched them on Sunday, they impressed me with the balance in their side while still fielding an attacking line-up against top of the table Arsenal.
No Championship plodders in their side though...

I just can't believe there isn't 10 young Brazilian kids on a beach that are better strikers than what we have that would play for a bag of chips.
What exactly are our coaches seeing in practice games that our strikers DO NOT reproduce in a real game. Do they need bigger goals or a vist to Spec Savers what?, I'm absolutely baffled about why they can't hit the target.
I'm sure we won't find an answer until we stop buying players on reputation looking for a home. I'm sick of new goal scorers bursting onto the scene in the prem while we get lame ducks, If strikers can't do thier job SACK THEM.

I'm a little worried that the system may be too rigid to allow much in the way of natural partnerships to form - I haven't seen enough because of work but since the Genoa game we have reminded me a bit of sparkys man city vs us when delap got sent off.. Honestly think it's still too early to judge though. For whatever reason a lot of teams have been god awful I froby of goal this season, including Manu going 5 games without a goal from open play. Definitely seen enough to give em the benefit of the doubt though and think some of the reactions so far have been way too hysterical. arnies still going at 10-1 first scorer and I'm gonna chase that fucker til it pays out!
