Be A Part Of It Posted on: Thu 24 Apr 2008 Colchester United Chief Executive Marie Partner has urged City supporters visiting Layer Road on Saturday to 'be a part of our party!'
The U's host Tony Pulis' promotion chasing Potters this weekend as they look to bring the curtain down on Layer Road in style with their final ever match at their current stadium.
There's plenty at stake for Tony Pulis' side of course and Marie is keen for the visiting fans to enjoy themselves when they arrive in north Essex.
Article continues Advertisement "We are keen for Stoke's fans to have a fantastic day regardless of the result this weekend," she said.
"It is going to be a big day for everyone at Colchester, but we hope that Stoke supporters will get involved and play their part in making this historic day a memorable one."
The U's will be putting on a host of entertainment before and after the game on Saturday, with City fans being very much involved on the day.
Upon arrival, the Potters fans will be given thousands of red and white balloons to make their part of the ground a sea of colour and younger supporters will be given a complimentary goody bag provided by the two clubs - full of sweets, stickers and other bits and pieces along with City related freebies kindly provided by our official club shop.
It could be a big day for City, and the U's have also kindly requested that visiting fans stay off the pitch at the end of the game, particularly if promotion to the Premier League is secured, to allow the players to celebrate with you all.
Let's play our part in seeing off Layer Road in style!

I hope that the POTY awards go a little more smoothly than Reading's did the year we played there and lost 1-0, last match of the season (ie. the trophy doesn't end up back in S-O-T!!!!).
