One of our fans is reporting that he (believed to be sub Jamie Elwell) was unconcious for 20 minutes

Sounds really nasty. Fingers crossed that he's okay. www.onevalefan.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=803680#post803680The game has been abandoned.
The vale player with the long throw (cant remember his name) suffered a clash of heads and lay unconscious on the ground for over 20 minutes, not moving.
The game has been called off.
Don't know any more details at present, but it sounds really bad.
Hope he is ok.

Just got back. I didn't it see it clearly because I was on the opposite side but he lay just there unconsious for 20 minutes until the ambulance took him away. It looked like just a regular challenge with no malice but a clash of heads. But like I said didn't see it too clearly.
No16 Jamie Elwell. Hope he's OK.

him and jimmy phillips went up for a 50/50 header and he fell to the floor arkwardly, i would say more a neck injury rather than a head injury, an ambulance came, with sinnott and glover and a stoke phyisio staying with him, they put a neck brace on him and took him away in the ambulance!

oh and the photographer from the sentinel got a good picture of it as it happened
the game wasnt great, we had a trialist playing up front with parkin, looked ok, he was at training tuesday with the first team. there keeper pulled off a couple of decent saves from Demar, phillips was his usual lively self and De Laet looked good
foyle and Sinnott were there as was rudge

Taken off OVF: "Apparently he's at hospital and conscious - Stoke medical staff were a big help - he injured himself in the fall, not the clash of heads" Thanks guys

He looked in a bad way but after about ten minutes of treatment the Vale & Stoke physios shook hands which was a good sign (to me anyway!)
Hope Jamie makes a good recovery- he had a huge long throw.
The officials made the correct decision in abandoning the game. My question though is why on earth isn't there an ambulance at reserve games?!

I've seen some bad injuries but that was the first I've seen where I was actually worried.
Twitters - if you know before any of us can you let us know if and when he's OK?
Cheers.

Hi all,
I've sent an email to Dave, our official webmaster and Glenn, one of the club's directors. Glenn isn't in a position to find anything at the moment but he hopes to be at the club tomorrow to check. My girlfriend Lauren works part time at Vale on Friday's so I will be in contact with her and try and find out what happened with Jamie.
Thanks very much to you all for your kind words and wishes, I'm sure all Vale fans will echo those thoughts.
