Not just a go at us but Hughes seems to buy into this nonsense , I'm all for passing the ball but without pace and momentum it's garbage as we saw today

Our performance today was identical to the first half against Palace, absolutely no tempo at all. Personally I would've brought Assaidi on for Jones instead of Crouch and moved Arnie as the leading striker, we were crying out for an injection of pace and Crouch was never going to provide it.

The sooner we fuck Crouch off and he's no longer an option, the better for all concerned.

The decision to swap Jones for Crouch was mind boggling as it achieved nothing and was never going too
Arnie should of gone centre forward with Assaidi coming on

The sooner we fuck Crouch off and he's no longer an option, the better for all concerned. We are relying on him to come off the bench and score as we have infact weakened the attack by loaning out Jerome and with Owen retiring

Totally agree, Arnie was the only bright light in an otherwise dark day, he worked hard up and down the pitch, he should have been used on the shoulder of the last defender, his pace and strength would have paid dividends as long as we could find someone willing to play a forward pass.

Crouch wasn't what we needed to bring on but to be fair to him he did everything he could have. He was much stronger in the air than Jones and did little wrong on the ball.

Afraid the argument about Jerome doesn't,t hold water, as he,s another nearly man. The problem is, we,ve got too many in the squad, as it is! .

I'm not saying he helped the team hence he 'wasn't what we needed' but given the circumstances, he did little wrong and was a lot better in the air.

We'll soon become a parody of Arsenal, all that obsession with possession stats and passes completed. It don't count for anything unless the ball goes in the net. Until we get somebody do to that on a regular basis, it'll be all flare and no substance.

We played just 4 less passes than Arsenal during the second half of our game at the Emirates!
Let's celebrate!

We don't don't even pass the ball, we try to but we don't find a team mate because it gets intercepted by the opposition. We are basically fucking shit right now. This thread is pathetic because it implies we have become a boring passing, possession obsessed team with no end product. Fact is we can't pass and we can't retain possession, as a result we have no end product. Give Hughes time, he's getting it wrong right now but then he is clearing up someone else's mess.

Personally I would've brought Assaidi on for Jones instead of Crouch and moved Arnie as the leading striker, we were crying out for an injection of pace and Crouch was never going to provide it. Spot on. Plus did you see how Norwich played it out quickly from the back and caught us on the hop a number of times? I counted three sharp and accurate passes finally linking onto a pacey winger and they were attacking our goal. The Baggies did it to Man U yesterday, Sessegnon's turning and attacking pace left the likes of knackered old carthorse Ferdinand and co for dead. The best sides break out quickly from the back and fill the oppositions box with pacey players. It's not rocket science. It was predictable, boring, slow, turgid fare from our lot; as a mate said later, if we had played on until next Thursday we still wouldn't have scored. Arnie was one of the few Stoke players who appeared to care and put a shift in for the side, I'd try him in a central role.

Whatever style we play it has to be played about 30% faster than yesterday , Assadi needs to be tried in the league at least he is quick and someone has to get a grip of Wilson and Nzonzi both good players but with a tendency to doing the bare minimum they were dire yesterday . Adam for whatever reason is not fit enough and the lack of a goalscorer remains a massive issue .
Lots of questions that need answering from yesterday and two winnable games coming up to begin to answer them

Crouch, coming on when the team were playing like shite and not creating any opportunities was never going to be effective. At the end of the day, the KJ v Crouch debate is irrelevant, they both need replacing.

Thought Kenwyne was really poor and it infuriates me. He was brilliant against Man City, and a bit of luck short of a goal.
Yesterday, was a different game for him.
