K J doesn't respond well to mind games so the sooner something is sorted out, one way or the other. the better!

What Hughes says is on the OS in his press conference.
In short, he expects Jones will want to do well to earn a new contract.

Surely he has to prove himself. So far he has scored a hat trick against a Div 1 club, and played well but not scored against Premier League clubs. He has to prove to Hughes that he can play well and and score a few IN THE FORMATION WHICH HUGHES PLANS TO PLAY.
I'm sure Hughes has been open with Kenwyne about what he expects and isn't playing mind games.

Oh no, one of our inconsistent strikers might not be staying with us, how tragic.
Having read his comments though it's nothing I'd get too worried over and what he says is spot on. Giving a new contract to someone based on a hat-trick against Walsall and two performances since is kind of madness. At the end of the day though I'm still where I was in the summer, if we got rid of all our strikers I really wouldn't be arsed.

Well, L-P if the article in 'The Sentinel' had read like your comments I would agree that MH isn't playing ming games but unfortunately it doesn't read like that! I accept possibly the journo wrote up the story in a way that doesn't reflect the true situation and I hope your surmising is correct!

This week we have been advised by a Sentinel journo that Gibraltar is an island, and by the national press that contract negotiations with Jones had already started and Hughes was desperate to sign him.

Absolutely. 3 goals in 50 league appearances for a forward since the start of the 2011/12 season is just shite; sub appearances and Pullisball notwithstanding. Kenwyne - go and earn your new contact and well all be happy.

Have to say I agree. His performances have been promising but still no goals from plenty of chances in the Prem games.Still signs of the old laziness too so jury out for me.
