Bit of an unusual one but has anyone been to watch Ferencvaros in Budapest? Me and some mates are off there next weekend and are keen to see them play Ujpest.
If anyone has been before and can advise how easy it is to get tickets etc it'd be much appreciated.

Ferencvaros v ujpest is the biggest game in hungary as its the budapest derby. Tickets might be hard to come by,the ground is easily located though, just off the main road which takes you from the airport to the centre.

Went to watch Ujpest when there a few years ago. Had my Stoke top on, had some puzzling looks (Ujpest play in purple and white stripes) and had some great banter. Check out the steaks on a bap that they serve by the gates to the ground. Also look out for the girls going around the stands selling beer to you in your seat There is a bar not far from the ground that serves dirt cheap beer too. Enjoy Budapest, where are you staying??

Gem of a city is Budapest, went past the ground which as elgreco says is dead easy to find. If it's not derby day would be surprised if you couldn't just rock up and purchase a ticket there and then......

I ended up in Budapest at the same time Man Utd were playing a Champions League match a few years ago (2005?). I can't remember what ground it was at but I walked up to the stadium and bought tickets 1/2 an hour before the match at these weird 4 foot high concrete booths. Hopefully that helps if you can find out if it was at the same ground...

Afternoon,
As previously said you can normally buy tickets on the day at the ground but if this a derby could be more difficult, the main tourist office in town can give advice on how to get tickets and the kick off times (the advertised time when I went was not the time it started so always best to check).
The ground is easy to get to on the metro underground and is near the station, it a fairly basic area around the ground but enough bars about.
If it a derby game it could get a bit lively and the police are normally keen to get stuck in so keep your wits about you.
Budapest a cracking city so enjoy youselves and have a few Dreyers (one of the local beers)

If the game is a "home" game for Ferencvaros then it will not be at home as the Florian Albert stadium is currently being demolished and updated.
Fradi games are being played at the current national stadium (puskas) this has its own metro stop. There is also a small national football museum there.
I have seen Ferencvaros play a number of times at home and the old stadium was a great day out. Only been to the national stadium once.
The good news is that you should get a ticket now no problem as the national stadium is a good size
Enjoy BP its a great city
