I think that's all Wilko is at the moment - cover for right back and (to a lesser extent) centre back. I love the bloke and he is the last Stokie left in the squad but his days are numbered. Maybe he could join Fuller at Blackpool, he played on loan there as a youngster and they wanted to buy him. I think he be good for a Championship chasing squad.

Agree John, it will be a shame when this lad leaves the club
I just want him to score before he does go, he deserves that blow up picture it would create on his living room wall.
The lad is too good and loves his football too much to stay in the reserves

He needs to score a goal for us before he goes. This would be a great scenario......in the last game, before Jan window opens, against Spurs away Wilko on the bench. With us winning 2-0 we are awarded a last min peno. Wilko is brought on to take it and scores with his last kick for Stoke before he goes to Blackpool for £1.5m.

Loan him out. Wilson can cover at right back if needed.

Loan him out. Wilson can cover at right back if needed. That'd leave us ridiculously short at the back. If he's happy to stay then I'd like to keep him- he will get game time this year when injuries and suspensions start to bite.

Although Cameron has had two good games in the past few weeks is it worth reminding people that these are only the two good games he's had since he joined us?

Love wilko to pieces and nobody can knock his effort when pulling on the shirt. Unfortunately he simply isn't good enough.

Every game he's played he's performed well He really, really hasn't. He's not a midfielder, he's not a centre back, hopefully he proves to be a decent right back but he has been poor for Stoke up until the last two games.

Wilko is so far away from being able to play the Hughes way, I'd have thought it would take a major injury crisis for him to even make the matchday squad.
I agree with the OP that he's been a great servant to the club, but I imagine the only reason he hasn't already moved on was because there were no takers' for Wilko in the last transfer window.

Same as Dicko; he'll do a good job for a club lower down the league and he'll be remembered with great affection at Stoke.

Love his comittment and he is a good defender, but I guess with our new style of play he will never be more than a sub. As we are short of defenders I can't see him going out on loan before we bring someone else in (January), but he wasn't even on the subs bench yesterday! Will probably leave in January or next summer I presume.

Defenders get injured and suspended as the season goes on. If we get rid of Wilco, we have to replace him. He will get a chance at some point, post Xmas would be my guess. It s up to him to take the chance and keep G-Cam out of the side.
...but generally, I do think as better defenders are bought in, it will be Wilco who slides down the order and out of the club.

Man United in the FA Cup final, last chance for Stoke to score, Wilko buries a volley right into the top corner.
Unfortunately we were 4-0 down at the point, but still. GoarnWilko.

A fantastic servant to the club, he's the only one now who keeps the local flag going. He's a limited premiership footballer but a fantastic defending right back, if we start struggling at any time he's someone you can trust to die for the cause. Surely we must keep our feet firmly on the ground through this transition period?!

He'll get his head down and work his socks off to get back in the squad. Would be dumb to let him go we need the cover and definately need him when we are in a scrap

He'll follow Pulis to Manure when Moyes gets sacked and play up front with van Reliant. Or, he'll go down a league.
