Oxford United 3 Stoke City 2
Manor Ground, 8th April 1989.
I was 7 years old. All I really remember is looking at Peter Fox's moustache and thought it was funny that a player could have a moustache like my dad's. Biggins might have scored? Not sure.

Burnley at home 63-64. We were 3-0 up at half time and cruising. Then Eddie Clamp stuck the nut on their little winger John Connelly and got sent off ( actually he was walking towards the tunnel before the ref sent him off). They pulled it back to 4-4 with Tony Allen scoring an og for their equaliser. Our next home game vs Sheff Wed ended the same score after we were 3-1 up at half time.

63/64 Stoke 0 Notts Forest 1 Did you go to the Burnley and Sheff Wed games, I mentioned in my previous post, a few weeks later gs? No that was the only game I went to. I was 10 years old at the time and my grandad took me - principally to see Stan Matthews play. I recall that I wasn't all that impressed as we lost the game without scoring. The next time I went, with some school mates, was 67/68 oddly against Forest again where we lost, at home, 1-2. The third time was the following season 68/69 League Cup replay where we lost at home to Blackburn 0-1. (is there a pattern emerging here?). Despite three games where Stoke lost it was that last game that got me hooked and that was when I became a "Fan" of the mighty Potters!
