I wonder how the 25% of Spaniards who are unemployed view this transfer? probably in the same way they view any massive Spanish company spending tens of millions of assets...they won't really care

I'd be laughing my tits off if I was Daniel Levy.
Quality player but worth no where near that much

Going on that price of £93 million how much does that make Begovic worth in today's market. I've heard £12 and £15 million banded around I'd say it was more like £20 million. You obviously can't compare the two but they're both possible match winners so if anyone does want Begovic I'd say £20 million no less.

An absolutely mind boggling amount of wedge. And still here we are worrying about the resale value of Peter Crouch

Is Rio Ferdinand still the most paid player in the world or will it be Bale after this?

Surely there comes a point for both buying club and player where the transfer fee figure has a totally negative impact?
Regardless of how well Bale performs for Real, he's NEVER going to command anywhere near that amount of lolly again and even IF they won the league, European cup and all domestic cups all thanks to Bale, ninety four million is massive pay out. Yet if he totally flops, which is unlikely but not completely implausible, Bale becomes an unmovable asset and it would become a disaster for both Madrid and Bale himself.
Ninety four million is totally crazy, nice for Spurs though!

Unless they plan to sell 50 million Bale tops.

Absolutely bonkers money. A bit like signing Dean Whitehead for 5 million.

Madness. The world has gone fucking mad. People on the streets starving and these cunts pay 93 million for one player. And people wonder why there's poverty. We have our priorities all wrong.
PS: Neymay is the most overrated player I've ever seen. He's nothing yet, so how swanseastokie can class him as the second best player in the world I'll never know.

This is truly astonishing for a player who can go missing for 3 or 4 games and only just about good at his very best which will not be often. Spurs done a great job hyping up the talent of, IMO, a one season wonder. Just bizarre. He has performed extremely well for the last few seasons, becoming the best player in the best league in the world. He seems to have convinced his fellow professionals, media and the majority of fans, but you have seen through it all.

Bale will show what a truly wonderful talent he is at Madrid. It's a lot of money but there is no better player in the world that Madrid are able to sign.

probably in the same way they view any massive Spanish company spending tens of millions of assets...they won't really care Spot on, strange comment really. Strange? The Spanish economy is in meltdown, people have lost their jobs on a massive scale, and 1 in 4 people under 25 cannot get any kind of employment, yet a football club think it's appropriate to spend the equivalent of the GDP of a small country on a football player? It's obscene.
