As much as I like him, I can't see Defoe leaving the South to be honest. He'd be another player I'd be worried we couldn't move on again too. Good for a couple of seasons though I'm sure.

If Defoe signed on loan, then that would presumably overcome the wages issue and also solve the problem of selling on an ageing player at some future stage.
Defoe may be past his best but I think that he is a proven quality striker, just the sort of player we need until One Agudela arrives.
Spurs opportunities must be diminishing for Defoe as they continue to sign even more players (unlike Arsenal).

How long before we are calling him lazy? Or slating his ability to hold up the ball?
I give it the first time he goes 2 hone games without scoring.

If Spurs get the people they want , I think he will be available but I also expect West Han to come in and give him the chance to stay in London which will be pretty much game over . I hope I am wrong

Whilst I like Defoe and his Crouch pairing is a proven kicker, I still feel that there's better value out there. Somewhere. Somewhere only Cartwright knows.
As an aside, I see Spurs for a 4th place this season. Villas-Boas is no mug.

As each day passes I wonder what Cartwright does know but then I'm always a bit worried at this time of year as each season we seem to mess about just as much as the season before only Wenger confuses me more than Stoke in transfers

I'm starting to think Roman acted a bit gung ho with the sacking of at Chelsea AVB, he is building quite a squad down there.

Evening Standard says Spurs will splash £30 million on the Willian later today so he's not exactly doing it on a shoestring.
