Will he feature much for Citeh this season? Would love him at Stoke, and can't see many English lads getting much match time under this new regime... Money again is a hindrance but I think he would be immense for us. Just saying...

Seriously leics?!?
Milner is a decent player at club level, a good worker and scores a few goals.
Id be well chuffed if Stoke were to ever show an interest in him.

Damn right he's a great player at PL level can play as an attacking midfielder or winger.

Yep, seriously Dan, can't stand him. No pace, can't tackle, goes backward or square...I have NEVER seen why he has been around so long and as for an England place...don't get me started! I can't think of anything positive that he has shown in the last 2 to 3 seasons, at any level other than he "works 'ard".

I posted about this last night, doubt we would get him but we should at least ask the question.
Him in a attacking 3 is a damn sight better than what we have

Back in the real world, he'd be a terrific signing. Suspect he'll stay there.

I think City will keep him they'll need grafters like him as the season wears on.

He probably won't get loads of minutes, but some. Hard to see where though, when you run through their options everywhere.
Can't see them letting him leave on loan though, which is what it'd take for us to have a sniff of him.
Permanent deal you'd be looking at £10m+, wouldn't you?
And with another 2 yrs on £100,000+, he won't be in a hurry to leave.

He'll be cover for Navas. Can't see us getting him. It'd be a great coup though. Barry and Richards please

Take him on loan, he would be a good signing and would fit in well. Comes across as a lad who would take a pay cut as well. Would like to see him in centre mid if he came.

I'm not convinced by him on the wing (ok, maybe in away games against top sides) but in central midfield he'd be ideal for us. As said above, a loan would be the only way we'd get a deal done. Depends if Citeh are going to stick by spirit of the new Prem rules on wages or drive a coach and horses through them with vastly increased "sponsorship" from their owners.

I rate him highly, very good midfield player, versatile, works for the team, experienced, would be a master-stroke signing for Sparky, doubt it would happen though

Any Stoke fan who'd say no to James Milner is deluded. He gets unfair stick because he's been poor at international level. I'd take him everyday of the week, and he works 'aaaaaard!

Not impossible but unlikely. If we're going to try and do business with Citeh we may as well enquire about Rodwell and Richards on loan as well

I agree most Man City players would probably be way too expensive - an outside chance may be that some of them have worked well with Hughes before

Both Milner and Richards would improve our team no end but would either want to be at Stoke? Arse are now after Richards.

Depends if Citeh are going to stick by spirit of the new Prem rules on wages or drive a coach and horses through them with vastly increased "sponsorship" from their owners. his real strength is central midfield. he has been stifled by being played on the wings by both club and country. Citeh paid as much as they did because of the improvement in his game once he was switched into the middle, his versatility has been his downfall for both club and country. He has won trophies and his bank balance no doubt makes him smile, but can't help but think his game has faltered.
