The intent was better, but the execution was not. Sure we passed it more, but most was crab like. There was, yet again no movement up front and no pace, so we can pass all we want at the back, but what the hell for? Wilson I see got loads of stick and it was not his best game, but several times he was given the ball by N'Zonzi (who for us ducked out many a time and walked around the pitch - still an issue with him) with no outlet and he got out of jail several times and got found out as well Off the back of that, our defence just seemed shaky and I swear I saw Shawcross's right leg twitch several times as it so wanted to hit the diagonal It is going to take time and frankly 3 or 4 new signings if we are going to succeed The new style (welcomed) equally highlights some big issues, namely in the midfield, wingers and up front Left back chappie was blinded under the lights but grew in to the game, so less worried than some about him Poor owd Wilson needs to know what his position is and then maybe, just maybe he can make it his own Apart from that we were fine The issue we have, after reflection on the road so long on the way back, is which comes first? Belief in the system, or a few poor results and then confidence drains. Today highlighted that. Very rabbits in the headlights first half, but grew in to it second half If we are going to prosper under the new approach we need new blood

Agree.
Lets see what the next week brings. A couple of new faces in attack and we could be a different proposition. Bit galling to see our peers new boys getting started already.
If we're moving forward with our passing game we've got to work on mobility. A lot.

No Stafford I can't see the original poster of this thread saying we were crap, where as if you look at your past posts you have slated us and suggested this will be our last season in the prem for a while! This thread started with a subjective outlook of what the gentleman saw today! I have seen no subjectivity from yourself!

There's nothing left for you here. I must have supported SCFC through 20 different managers and God willing I will still be around to welcome LMH's successor and his successor as well. It is the club that matters, not individuals. As this thread says; today was different, but it was no better.

I went down this road earlier and just got called a moron and a c***. Put ya tin hat on. Good post. Yes, bring back Pulis. No one is saying that Fish - stop turning the agenda. Regardless of whatever you think of SS and March, they both agreed Pulis time was up Whoever came in, it was going to be difficult. But what it highlighted for our lot, it is going to be a lot harder, despite what Sparky says (and of course he is not going to bemoan what he was left with)without 3 or 4 new signings Our movement and pace from midfield to up front was the same old Stoke

Like I said earlier a few folk on here need to let go HE'S GONE so fookin move on. The ones who still seem to be going on about TP are the ones who were most fervent in wanting him gone. For some of them, we could have lost 15-0 and they still would have claimed it was an improvement. LMH is our manager now. He made all sorts of mistakes today in the setup of our team shape and we were lucky not to get a proper pasting. However, it is his first game, he will learn from this and his team shape can't have been helped by WP's late withdrawal. Let's hope his mission to France is successful and we get a solid 3 points against Palace.

Just curious, at what point in time did you all decide that we should be beating Liverpool at Anfield?
We created chances and had above 40% possession, it's progress
If Tone was in charge we'd have sat behind the ball and waited for the barrage and still lost 1-0 when they inevitably wore us down

I was and still am saying that if we don't get some better players in we are going to struggle. You could say that I was implying that Pulis left us with a load of shit but I wasn't saying that either. If we are to play the tippy tappy game then we need a better outlet than we have. We can make 3000 passes in a game but if it isn't getting to the front and have some return in the way of goals, what is the point?

Like I said earlier a few folk on here need to let go HE'S GONE so fookin move on. If that was aimed at me, I resent that. You need to re read my post and take your anti Pulis glasses off - as I have stated I thought he should have left a season before he did Neither have I slagged off our new approach. In fact I welcome it But it highlights issues within the current squad if we ant to play this way, which I do. They were there for the last two season when we played the other way, but this highlights them more We had no option but to change I believe, albeit a season too late, but it now really highlights the issues we face
