Blue Oyster Cult guitarist and founder member passes over at 67 - "Don't Fear the Reaper" is the one he wrote that most (of a certain age) will recognise - one of my all time favourite bands I have to say....... "It's the nexus of the crisis and the origin of storms..." link

Makes you feel very old when one of your heroes passes away...
I remember seeing BOC at Bingley Hall on the Mirrors Tour in (I think) 1979, and they were a rarity at the time in that they were a rock band who genuinely appeared to be enjoying themselves on stage, which made the gig all the more memorable. I remember seeing Rainbow around the same time, and they were so up themselves it was untrue.
Might just dig out Agents of Fortune and give it a blast for old times sake now.

Until my bro mentioned it yesterday, I had clear forgotton that they played Viccy Hall on the Club Ninja tour - quick Google tells me that was Sat 30th November 1985 with Statetrooper and Girlschool supporting (RIP Kelly Johnson) - for the record Stoke had beaten Sunderland 1-0 earlier that day in front of 9k - so good times....
....and for the ultra nerdy like me, the set list was :-
01 Me262 02 Dominance & Submission 03 ETI 04 Buck's Boogie 05 White Flags 06 Make Rock Not War 07 Take Me Away 08 Last Days Of May 09 Dancin' in the Ruins 10 Joan Crawford 11 Shadow Warrior 12 Wings Of Mercury 13 Burnin' For You 14 Godzilla 15 (Don't Fear) The Reaper
...and if a remember rightly it wasn't sold out either WTF!!!!

Absolutely love fear the reaper great song. First heard it as the intro to the TV version of Steven King's The Stand it was very fitting for a great story.
