Spuds would never take £4m for Defoe Cobham. If he would sign for Stoke, which is hugely unlikely, your probably looking at minimum price of double that figure, regardless of age. Defoe is a current England goalscorer! Age is irrelevant. If Defoe was 41 and playing for England the Spoz would want serious bucks for him! Exactly my point Nicolas. No way on this planet would Levy accept either a £3m or £4m bid for him, minimum price would start at double that. If Stoke aren't willing to pay it then they need to move on as its pretty clear that Spurs arent a club to try and bargain with.

We normally spend 20m or a bit more each season.
Let's just get Defoe, Hernandez and Sinclair in for a combined 20m and ship out Zonzi, one of either Crouch or KJ and some deadwood for around 15m in total. Total spends = 5m
The issue we have is that we rarely sell anyone. Now we're still overloaded with poor players and it's holding us back. Both in terms of restricting our potential transfer and wage budget.

Im starting to believe that Jermain Defoe will never sign for Stoke. As much as I'd love him here, I have infact, believed for quite a long time that Defoe will never sign for us Same here he would be great for us and would love him here too. Don't think he's ever been prepared to move anywhere out of London. I think Londoners have been given the impression that they'll catch the plague up here anyways, or that most of them don't even realize we exist xD
