Just looking at skybet, jermaine Defoe is the favourite to sign for stoke, 9/4 by a long way,
Fulham the next at 10/1

If it's 9/4 then it's favourite that he's staying put.

Skybet transfer odds are ludicrous. They don't include his current club in the betting, and if he doesn't move, you lose.
They are not even remotely close to the true odds of things happening.
People use them as gospel on here though for some reason

Im starting to believe that Jermain Defoe will never sign for Stoke.
As much as I'd love him here, I have infact, believed for quite a long time that Defoe will never sign for us

I know he's getting on a bit but I'd love himat Stoke at the right price of about 4m Spuds would never take £4m for Defoe Cobham. If he would sign for Stoke, which is hugely unlikely, your probably looking at minimum price of double that figure, regardless of age.

Don't think he's ever been prepared to move anywhere out of London. I think Londoners have been given the impression that they'll catch the plague up here anyways, or that most of them don't even realize we exist xD

Being serious for 1 min before my cuppa would love him here just what we have been missing a goal poacher.

Villas-Boas clearly doesn't rate Defoe, but will want him as a squad player. The lad of course wants to play but you'd guess he'd have to take a pay cut and move out of London, which are both doubtful. Either way, Defoe will score goals wherever and whenever he plays.

My mate asked Hughes whether we were signing Defoe at the weekend. His answer. "Yes if you pay his wages".

Too old for the fee that Spuds will want for him.

For £3m it would be a good deal, wouldn't pay anything more because of his age though.

I'd pay £4m maximum, we would get 2 seasons out of him

Looking at the money spent of a number of transfers that have happened in this closed season, I would be prepared to pay more!
It will take the likes of Peter Crouch to persuade him to leave London imo with the intention of pairing the 2 of them in our starting 11
I believe that we still need at least 2 strikers - scoring goals should still be our priority

For me Defoe is a guarenteed 14+ goals next season if we sign him and he starts 32+ games so 3-4million in todays crazy market is a good buy for us.
I can see Hughes going for Defoe and also a little gamble from abroad, he does have a decent record with picking players from abroad for relative small money...Dembele, Samba, Nelson etc

For 3 or 4 million its a no brainer as long as we can sort his wages out. I suppose a move to us depends on whether AVB has told him he's surplus to requirements and will only play occasionally at Spuds. A player like Defoe wants to play every week at his age and I suppose we could give him that guarantee especially with our current forwards! Like I say if he's desperate to play week in week out we could be an option. Fingers crossed

For £3-4M on a two-year-contract with the option of a third I think this could be great business! I guess he will want at least £50K a week, but if this secures our PL status it will certainly be worth it!

If they get Soldado I can't see him getting much game time there next season anyway. Not in AVB's system.

Why is everyone so concerned about how much we pay?
I'd love to see Defoe playing for Stoke and i don't care how much he costs, it's not my money.

If Defoe was 41 and playing for England the Spoz would want serious bucks for him!
