..... is refusing to wear the new Newcastle kit as the sponsor (Wonga) conflicts with his religious beliefs!! He's not gone on the club tour because of it. How are the Geordies going to sort that one out then?? Worth a sneaky bid d'ya reckon?

If his religious beliefs are as strong as he says then we stand no chance. If he's a mercenary tosser as I suspect he might be we still stand no chance.

In my opinion by signing a contract with a football club means you accept the fact that you will be have to wear a shirt which will have a sponsor on it, regardless of whether you agree with what that sponsor does or not. If Cisse refuses to play in competitive games with the shirt then Newcastle shouldn't pay his wages.

He's been fined £10,000.
It'll be £113,745,643 if he doesn't pay it by next Friday.

All you need to do to stop him scoring against you then is cover all the balls at home in Wonga stickers.

Do you honestly believe if he was at the Shit and they got a new sponsor who did pay day loans that he'd demand to leave?

Fair play to him but hard to find any clean club I guess who can pay the wages they get, although Wonga is a pretty bad one I would not wear anything with Bet 365 on it but the money got us where we are

I have no idea if it's true or not (I've never read the Quran) but it isn't against said book for Muslims to work in a place or for a company that sells alcohol? I remember it banded around when all this fuss first came around and if it is true then he's a mercenary. The link below seems to think it is against Islamic law. I wonder why it doesn't bother him? au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090918070809AAbTvqn

The fella clearly just does not want to be at Newcastle.

He's acting like a bit of a knobhead to be honest, won't wear the top because it bears the sponser's name, Wonga, yet is pefectly happy to run around in a shirt with 'Barclays Premier League' all over it, and the last time I looked Barclays also lent money. Smacks of double standards to me.
The stupid prick needs to man up and stop acting like a petulant little child.

If he wants to leave Newcastle because they are the laughing stock of English football no one would blame him but to claim this is about religion when he is just contradicting himself isn't going to do him any favours.

I am no expert on Islamic beliefs but I think the difference between Wonga and Barclays, Virgin Money and Northern Rock is that the latter three you can open a bank account where you do not receive interest on the money you have with them. It is the earning of money for moneys sake that is against Muslim ideals. Therefore Wonga being only aq company that makes money from money is completely against their beliefs.
In Muslim communities the rest of community through the mosques help you out if you need money for a home or to set up a business and you pay them back as and when you can. To be honest it's a much better solution than going to the bank for a loan and keeps the money in the local community.
Also the difference between playing in a ground sponsored by Wonga and wearing a shirt sponsored by Wonga is the element of touch. This applies to other workplaces also such as working at a supermarket where they sell alcohol as long as you don't work on the checkout where you may have to pass the alcohol over the scanner or stack the alcohol shelves. They would be okay to work in say fresh goods though.
Obviously it isn't as clear cut as yes or no though and it's how far they wish to take it but it should be respected by NUFC.
I believe they've offered him a sponsor-less shirt or one with a charity on to overcome the situation.

In fairness to him he has offered to play in a shirt with no logo, or a charity logo.
Can't see why this would be a big issue, quick phone call from NUFC to Wonga HQ and this could be sorted

As with most forms of advanced mental illness religion the believer will choose which bits of their delusional belief system religious dogma to embrace or ignore. The reality is that nearly all types of religion are so full of contradictions its farcical when stacked up against the believers behaviour within the modern world. Cisse may be making a point he believes in, but makes himself look a twat when his overall behaviour is examined in the context he's currently in.

?It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed ten with regard to alcohol: the one who squeezes it (the grapes etc), the one for whom it is squeezed, the one who drinks it, the one who carries it, the one to whom it is carried, the one who pours it, the one who sells it, the one who consumes its price, the one who buys it and the one for whom it is bought.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/27281~~~~~~ ?it is haraam to work and earn a living by helping people to consume haraam things such as alcohol and pork. The payment for that is haraam, because this is a kind of cooperating in sin and transgression, and Allaah prohibited that when He said (interpretation of the meaning): “…but do not help one another in sin and transgression…” [al-Maa’idah 5:2] ?it is forbidden for a Muslim to sell haraam things such as pork and alcohol. It was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When Allaah forbids a thing, He also forbids its price.” www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/681.....let the hysteria and moral judgements unfold......

it's due to a quote in the Qu'ran which states:
"No person should associate themselves with infidel who use shit puppets to promote their services"
it's the same quote that's given rise to the needless slaughter of meerkats all over the arab world!

There are other muslim players at Newcastle including Tiote and they don't seem to mind - maybe it is a sneaky way to force a move, he didn't live up to the hype last season following his initial success and his pal Ba has done one
