Give it an hour, this thread will descend into chaos with one poster declaring that Begovic is fu**king s**t, another claiming the new scouting set up are FBI agents and somebody else on the verge of a full blown Roal Moat outburst because the tickets would have been cheaper had Tone still been in charge.

Unfortunately for us Tom, this is pretty close to the truth

The extra £2 makes no difference financially but psychologically it does. No friendly should ever be more than £10. Not that I care because I can't go anyway.

Pre-season friendlies for me are as follows.... I go to them and then once the match starts i think "why on earth have i bothered coming to this?" and then my mind wanders to anything but the pointless (all about pre-season fitness) football match that's taking place in front of me. Just my take on it, throw it in for what it's worth. I know folk who feel the same, nowadays i really can't be arsed with them and £12 for a game which is irrelevant is, well, fair enough if you want. Let's not be provacative eh? We wouldn't want that. The away games are good for a little revenue for the "smaller" club if that makes sense, so that's fine and dandy. Trouble with pre-season friendlies is also people who will get all hot under the collar if we lose them. "OH MY GOD, WE LOST, THAT MEANS WE'LL GO DOWN UNLESS THINGS CHANGE!!" "DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY, WINNING IS A GOOD HABIT TO HAVE, OHHHHHHHH, WE'RE DOOMED!" Happens every year, and i look forward to it happening again this year

I enjoyed it after the Newcastle Town match in 2009, we lost 2-1 and Abdy Faye walking around to meet the fans was the highlight. Think we also lost at Nantwich Town as well. Some folk were going a bit crackers about it, "As if we lost against them, doesn't bode well, we're going down! Sort it out everyone, open your eyes! Our players are all crap! Not good enough, arggghhhhhh!!" and other such nonsense. That season we finished 11th on 47 points which was our highest finish and highest points tally since being in the Premier League and also got to the FA Cup Quarter Finals in only our second season since returning to the top flight. Thank god Newcastle Town & Nantwich Town weren't in The Prem' eh? We'd have gone down for sure! Copy and paste this for future posts... "It's only about Pre-Season fitness, Jeez, get a grip people!"

In the build I was looking forward to it, "should be good" I thought. "Unusual to play at a neutral venue" I thought. "It's only an hour up the road" I thought. 5 minutes in........ "What the fuck am I doing sat here opposite 300 Burnley fans?"

We were away at Brentford last pre-season weren't we? Had to pay to get into that one and it was so boring it was borderline surreal. Or was it two seasons ago?
