Mine's arrived as well but the plan is not to do it. Offered it to Mad Mary but she's too busy having those pricks put in her arse at the mo a bit like some of the blokes in the hotel bar then. 2 loud gay yanks and the puanist has picked up on it, candle in the wind, new york new york, etc. Sounds like your kind of night sailor

New emphasis for London....spot Mark Bowen & advise him on a right back! What a laugh..."Hughsie, I can't even get away from Stokies while having a Sunday run! 6 miles in, past Cutty Sark & Nando's...and this 6ft 6 loon from Worcester wants to talk Right Backs..." and a left back, erik has more mistakes in him than marc wilson Think of my pace Northwich! If I list everything it will be a 6hr marathon & Bowen will have an injunction on me coming anywhere near 😂

Join a Club...one of the best tips out there. With me its Worcesters Friendliest "Black Pear Joggers" and it means the world to me! I think I was chatting to one of your club members at the Wolverhampton Parkrun this morning. From Worcester and running at Wolverhampton for the first time and from the results it looks like he got the pb he was after.

3.50 in vienna for me, i had clocked 3.48 at 26.2 miles but ended up at 26.5 miles, my other watch in km clocked 43.1 km, 1k over the 42.1 officual distance. very windy at times, 30 km/h winds wasnt the best for running

5:14 for London Dissapointed but i gave it my all As Timmypotter said above it's not a straightforward race. I did my one and only two years ago at Manchester. Flying up to 19 miles and then the cramp slowed me down over the next seven.
Spoke to a guy on the club run this morning who did the Newcastle way marathon last Saturday. He said exactly the same....it's a race where you never know when the wheels are going to come off.
Having said all that the 76 year old I run with was disappointed at going over 4 hours last year
Well done.

I don't really know what the answer is to know when it'll start to be hard. In terms of my aerobic performance I felt good to the end. Felt as though I was moving through the gears at the right times but i just couldn't get my legs to respond. I guess more miles in training would be the answer. Reckon I could have got a good for age 3.05 if I started out at that pace, but you don't know until you try. Not sure I'll be back for another go though - far too much like hard work.

I was after 3:10/3:12 at Manchester. I went through 10K in 45 minutes and halfway in 1:34 so in respect of the breathing I wasn't running fast enough to put it under real pressure. I was slowing slightly up to 19 miles but then the hamstring cramp started. I think it would have been 3:12 if I'd been able to continue and ended up at 3:21 which ain't bad for an old man who's a 5K runner at heart
Fortunately good for age wasn't an issue since I wasn't planning another one.

Last of the London talk...had a butchers at the results, and only one Mark Bowen ran.
5:27:34...and hey for all the issues 'Mark & his team" have had on the pitch this season, doff my hat for him completing it.

Have you seen they've added 2-4seconds on everyone's time!!! Just go off at a sensible pace and you'll be fine, think the hills start at 6miles don't they?

I got two seconds added to the chip time and one second taken off the gun time......sounds like something has gone wrong somewhere. I know one of the organisers so I'll ask him about it. If anyone was one second inside their pb before the addition they'd be a bit pissed.
Forgot to say I was asked by one of the Welsh big wigs if I'd got any Welsh ancestry in me before the race. Like Shawcross though it's an England vest or none at all
Uttoxeter is going to be another Stafford with wind speeds around 18mph buggering up a decent time.

Mate of mine tried for an England vest but ended up being a plastic paddy due to the level of competition, an international vest is an international vest, you wouldn't have seen on TV today the Birmingham 10k Matt clowes who came 3rd behind the two elite elites is a local law who use to run for Staff Moorlands AC 😊 how was Uttoxetter???

Uttoxeter was tough due to the breeze and having a race in my legs 36 hours earlier*. Ran with one of my old club mates in 1:34 which was slow enough for both of us to have a good chin wag. He's a 1:27 man but he did London and Friday's race in 19 minutes. Maximum League points, Age category prize and a Staffs County Championship medal so I'm happy
* Don't forget I also did the full warm down run on Friday with the fast lad from NTC while you and your lightweight mate cried off halfway through

Well done on the pb
