Obviously, he has to check the road signs after turning right at Calais. I'm sure there will be one saying "Sparkey's training camp 500 km" - obviously it will be written in "Foreign" though.

Looks like just Alabi and Keane, of the U-21s, who've travelled with the senior squad. Off. site training camp blog2:40 stokecityfc.com: Must congratulate Under 21 starlets James Alabi and Jordan Keane, who are part of the travelling party having impressed Mark Hughes over the last few days.

I'm guessing with Cameron and KJ not there, they're taking those two to make up the numbers. We have more central midfielders than soft mick so it's probably better for Dawson to play and train with the U-21's. That's my guess though. Or just maybe he hasn't impressed as much as the other two?

He can fill in at centre back too if needed.

It's a big year for him though, last season he was injured for a good number of it so needs to stay fit and go from there. Thought they may have taken another (left) winger as well? If we have one! Edu Cameron isn't playing in the Gold Cup is he? Why isn't he here? I wonder if they're giving him more time off because of his mammoth season last time around? There's Adam Thomas and Jack Nardiello who are wingers and then in the U-18's a 14/15 year old started playing there near the end of the season.

The French border isn't far south of Geneva and they can't have travelled far into France given the time they arrived at the hotel. Possibly the area around Annecy? Annecy is one of my favourite towns anywhere. I could happily live on the shores of the lake.

I wonder if the lads will leave all the speaking to Steven Nzonzi, or whether some of them will have a go at the local lingo themselves.
"Je voudrais dix pains au chocolate, s'il vous plait."
"Pas de probleme, Monsieur Palacios."

"Where's Tony? And that bloke looks like a left-back! What's going on? I'm scared!"

It was where that murder of the British Asian family took place in the car last year. The father's brother (I think) has since been arrested in the UK. Really is a super place though.

I thought someone said they landed at Geneva? You'd fly to Lyon if you were staying in St Etienne, surely?
