Hughes was certainly talking him up when he signed... "Samba was a real find for us in January, so we're delighted he's joined us permanently.
'He's a very accomplished footballer and he's made to measure for the Premier League.
'He's got good pace, strength and ability on the ball and he's going to be a great asset for us going forward. There's still so much more to come from him.
Still got some fans at QPR too! QPR forumBrilliant player on his day but clearly had a few things going on behind the scenes. I still have faith. This guy has an unbelievable amount of talent & on his day is head & shoulders above any QPR player. Not sure I'd go this far - but I agree with ther sentiment he has bags of ability & would like to see him fulfill it with us. Provided he wants to be here & is given a shot, could do some serious damage to the Championship. Hope he stays. If he sorts out some clumsy tackling and gets his head right he could still develope into one hell of a player.

I've always thought he was a liability but more often than not the fans of the club he plays for are right.

Part of a failed QPR team! Robert Huth was part of a failed Middlesbrough team. Didn't make him crap though did it? Yes but we all know somethings not right at QPR. Behind the scenes and on the field. And if this is the Diakite that constantly made reckless challenges then I dont want him anywhere near here. Getting sent off regularly didnt exactly help QPR's cause last season did it? Edit: Or am I getting my wires crossed with M'Bia? I know one of them kept getting suspended for ridiculous tackles

Samba Diakité got 5 yellows and 1 red in 11 apps. Stéphane Mbia got 10 yellows and 1 red in 29 apps.
I know what you mean mate but just saying "NO he was part of a failed team (team that got relegated)" isn't reason to not sign a player. Teams get relegated and top flight teams sign their players all the time. A player doesn't become crap because a team he played for goes down. That's my issue, with regards this player yeah he's a nutter and i don't fancy having him here because of it. Not because he was with a team that went down and was badly run, that's got nowt to with owt.

Diakite and Hoillet are the 2 I would take a gamble on at QPR. They both had disappointing seasons last year like every other player down there. But they are both young and have the potential to be good players. They would be fairly cheap and if they were successful there's scope for their value to vastly increase which is the new blueprint we seem to be looking for.
Both would be a bit of a gamble but on paper they've got a lot of the qualities you would be looking for. Hughes will know them better than most too so he will have a good idea if they've got true potential.

I think they could both improve our first team squad.

He'd be a decent replacement for N'zonzi.

I don't want to think about Nzonzi going. I'd like him and Diakite as two defensive midfielders with an attacker in front of them. Hoillet maybe. That combination might see a few red cards though!
Anyway, untill we sell a few players I don't think we will be seeing any new faces. We were clearly short of a left back and centre half but with now having Muniesa and Pieters, the squad is complete. We will have to move the deadwood on before anymore buying.

We should go for him, offer lower wages but they will increase based on his performances. That might bring the best out of him.

The only QPR deal that Stoke should be looking at should involve Hoilett & Crouch.

I'm not sure about Hoilett, but I'd trust Hughes's judgement. However, if Crouch goes would that mean Jones staying? If so, he'd have to sign a new contract as we can't let him run his current one down.

No I firmly believe Crouch will be staying. Unless 'Arry comes in with an offer we cant refuse. I think Coates and Spark would happily settle for £4m for Crouch. Cant see KJ signing a new contract unless he really hits the ground running this season. Im saying I dont want any QPR players really. Theres just no one there i'd like. Regards to other relegated teams this year i'd happily take a couple off Reading and Wigan. But none for QPR

Wouldn't be very expensive, good ability, but must learn to control himself! A bit like N'Zonzi in that way! The two of them together in the middle a bit risky perhaps!?

Part of a failed QPR team! Tim Cahill was part of a Millwall team who got relegated to the THIRD TIER of English football I bet Everton rued the day they signed him 2 months later The logic on here is bizarre sometimes

He's a good box to box midfielder with a bit of ability.... poor mans moussa sissoko.
He's also a bit of a loon, which always helps!

He's a good player, if a little over zealous. I'd like to think we can keep Nzonzi therefore won't have the need and spend the cash elsewhere, for example young Hoilett.

Very good player imo. Would love him in a three man centre midfield alongside nzonzi, with adam being given a free run

Very good player imo. Would love him in a three man centre midfield alongside nzonzi, with adam being given a free run I agree and it would give us competition for places especially if NZonzi stayed. I agree re a first choice 3 of Diakite, NZonzi and Adam with perhaps an away option of NZonzi, Diakite and Wilson. A pool of NZonzi, Adam, Diakite, Wilson, GCam, Muniessa and Cuvellier would give us good options. We need to sell Palacios, Whelan and Edu and loan out Nessif we can though.
