It's that time of year again folks! The new scholars have been announced and the preparation for the season is about to begin! DF - Curtis Strong DF - Ed Sanders DF - Sam Coulson DF - Joseph Hulme DF - Joel TaylorDF - Lewis Banks DF - Liam Edwards DF - Lee Pickerill DF - Theo Vassell DF - Johnville Renee-Pringle MF - Eddy Lecygne MF - Peter Makrillos MF - Jake Cook MF - Kieran Monlouis MF - Ryan ShieldsMF - Kelvin Douglas MF - Oliver Roberts FW - Derice Richards FW - Nathan Ricketts-HopkinsonFW - Charles-Anthony Weston-Hayles FW - Yusuf Coban 1st Years 2nd YearsScholars Banks Lewis Retained Coban Yusuf Retained Cook Jake Benjamin Offer Contract Coulson Samuel Philip Offer Contract Douglas Kelvin Isaac Retained Edwards Liam Retained Gyollai Daniel Retained Kurasik Dominic Retained Monlouis Keiran Dion Offer Contract Pickerill Lee Retained Renee-Pringle Johnville Isaacs Joseph Retained Ricketts-Hopkinson Nathan Alton Offer Contract Roberts Oliver James Retained Strong Curtis Extended Taylor Joel Offer Contract Vassell Theo Gary Carlstan Retained Weston-Hayles Charles-Anthony Noel Retained Good luck to 'em all! And the U-21 squad provisionally; GK - Daniel Bachmann GK - Dale Eve RB - Ben Glasgow RB - Elliot Wheeler - signed after being released by Portsmouth RB - Kevin Gomez Nieto - signed after being released by Feyenoord CB - Ben Heneghan CB - Jordan Keane CB - Sam Westley CB - Mason Watkins-Clark - signed after released by Villa CB/LB - Ryan O'Reilly CB/LB - Alex Grant - signed after being released by Portsmouth LB - James Campbell CM - Lucas Dawson CM - Charlie Ward - signed after being released by Villa AMC - Kris Scott Signed for SwanseaAMC - Jamie Menagh - signed from Blackpool Told he can leave, not on official squad list so presumed he's fooked offAMC - Jordan Richardson WG - Adam Thomas WG/ST - Jack Nardiello ST - Karim Rossi ST - John Marsden Signed for ShrewsburyST - James Alabi ST - Marcel Barrington - Signed for LeicesterST - George Waring - signed after being released from Everton So then looking at this list the following have been released from the U-18's. Ed Sanders Joseph Hulme Peter Makrillos Ryan Shields Derice Richards So from here I think this is the current U-21 squad (if they sign on the dotted line); GK - Daniel Bachmann GK - Dale Eve RB - Jake Cook RB - Elliot Wheeler CB - Sam Coulson CB - Sam Westley CB - Mason Watkins-Clark CB/LB - Ryan O'Reilly CB/LB - Alex Grant LB/LW - Joel Taylor LB - Curtis Strong CM - Kieran Monlouis CM - Eddy Lecygne CM - Charlie Ward WG - Adam Thomas WG/ST - Jack Nardiello WG/ST - Peter Skapetis ST - James Alabi ST - George Waring ST - Nathan Ricketts-Hopkinson A squad of 20, not much wriggle room there. So will we see Ngoy in this squad or is he getting to the place where a loan could happen? He's still just 16 correct?

Should that Ben Barber be on the Development squad List. I understood we had signed him from Man U.

Dawson, a product of the club's Academy, leaves this summer along with fellow youngsters Kevin Gomez Nieto, Ben Heneghan, Jordan Keane, Jordan Richardson and Karim Rossi.
Striker James Alabi, who has sampled loan spells with varying degrees of success at Scunthorpe (twice), Mansfield and Forest Green over the past 18 months, has been offered new terms by the club.
New deals are also on the table for Bermudan goalkeeper Dale Eve, Australian-born defender Alex Grant, Jack Nardiello, Ryan O'Reilly, Adam Thomas, Mason Watkins-Clark and Elliot Wheeler.
The club are also in negotiation with Aussie striker Peter Skapetis, aged 20, following his release by QPR.

Yes, well done to the lads. We were, I think, one of only 2 non Spanish clubs taking part - the other being a german club who I haven't heard of. Most of the Spanish clubs are household names though - Athletico, Real Madrid, Valencia, Levante, elche etc. How do we get these invites - is it the Coerver programme?

I haven't got the foggiest but with this one it'd make sense. For the U-19 tournie we were just in it was because Fulham couldn't fulfil their commitment so we took it.

That's three tournaments in the past month - the Adidas one in the States which we won, the U19 one wich we lost in the final (on penalties) and now this one for the U12s where we'll finish 3rd or 4th. This must be good for the long term development of Academy players. not only are they getting international tournament experience - but they aren't getting pasted - we're doing well at all age levels. It is easy to get excited but I hope it means that the Academy will start producing players for the first team (or whom we can sell at a profit)in the not too distant future.

Indeed Forner. It's also a good selling point too I'd imagine, which is what is needed. The recruitment will be extremely competitive and if we can offer chances like this it's a great addition to what we can sell to the parents of these kids.

Yes if you were a parent of an academy kid - you'd love it if your little Tarquin got to play in a Spanish Tournament aged 11 or 12!
