The only way you could motivate this idle arse, is to stop paying his wages.....He'd soon hit top form.

Agent Palacios! Doubt he'll be as sucessful as Agent Sonko though.
P.S. 'Set sights on Palacios' you'd hardly need a 'sight' to see him.

If we get £1.5M for him and get him off the payroll we have done really well! We only paid £6M in the first place, didn't we!

This can only hinge on wages. It makes so much sense on every other level - if ever a player needed a fresh start Mr P does. Would be another real symbol of change/progress for the club too.

This has been rumbling on for almost 24 hours now. What's the hold up, as soon as the possibility was mentioned Coates should have had him on a private jet up to Hull, making sure he had a pen in his pocket to sign the contract.

Getting rid of Palacios would be one of our best bits of business all summer. We are packed to the rafters with mediocrity in midfield and we need to make space.
Sell Palacios to Hull Sell Edu to Turkey Loan Flo to the championship Loan Ness to championship.
That leaves Nzonzi, Whelan, Adam, Wilson and Cameron.
When you look at it like that there's no way we will be signing another centre midfielder. We've too much mediocrity in there really but I think we will have to wait another year untill we start to improve this area.

Can't see him going Hull he's very settled in the area with his family in a very nice house in Warmingham.
If he does go it'll be to a club he can travel to.

Two of that list aren't good enough, one is very unproven in midfield and another should only really be back up, I think there's easily a need to get someone in, Plus if N'Zonzi goes we'd need two.

I think ideally we want another centre midfielder. A quality one. But unless we sell one or more of Whelan, Wilson, Cameron, Adam, then we haven't got space. We aren't going to be throwing money round on players who aren't essential. We are in a position where we need to shift players out before we can buy in. None of the current lot look like going for now.

Personally I think it is essential, apart of N'Zonzi our other midfielders are pretty average at best, obviously I can't comment on Wilson just yet, if Palacios does go I think we'd have the space even if we didn't manage to sell one of the others.

The biggest mistake Coates has made was sanctioning the purchase of Crouch + Palacios (we wouldn't have got PC without WP coming as part of the deal in my opinion ) It was a huge amount of money to spend on an aging forward and an out of form midfielder. Combine that with the wages and the fact we didn't even need Crouch at the time as the team had been flying up to that point,it was the start of things going down hill and I believe Pulis would still be in a job if he hadn't have got all starry eyed over Crouchie. If we get no return on WP he would have to go down as Pulis's and the clubs worst ever signing.
But,if he's playing for his country....and lasting the 90 minutes....maybe there's something left in his tank for us

Why would anyone pay a fee for him based on the last couple of years? Big wage off the wage bill, lovely stuff, thanks for the memories Wilson.
