Pearce abducted by alien skinheads ? yeah that's definitely a better headline. Not sure about its' veracity though, they'd have to be pretty hard.

I really hope it's not Southgate, get the Neville brothers in with Gary as manager, both have had experience of working as coaches with England teams and hopefully they'd bring fresh new ideas to the setup which is exactly what is required right now.

I think Southgate might turn out to be a half decent appointment.
Good riddance to Pearce.

If they were sacking him, I wonder if they'd draw straws to see who tells him.

Neither have any coaching experience of any worth and both have already been parachuted into coaching roles within the England set up. Their impact has been minimal, crap in the Euro's with Gary as assistant and even worse with Phil as assistant with the U21's this summer. I'm not saying they won't go on to become decent coaches in the future but surely you'd want them to earn their stripes before hoisting them into one of the most important jobs in English football? It's this jobs for the boys mentally that has stunted England's for years. It appears as though the trend is set to continue with Gareth Southgate, he will be an utter embarrassment.

Loved his passion as a player. Terrible tactician, if you can call him that.

I think Southgate might turn out to be a half decent appointment. Good riddance to Pearce. Yeah I like Southgate and still believe he will be a good manager. He got his Boro side playing a good, easy on the eye brand of football and led them to a midtable finish. His next season wasn't great but everyone is allowed a shit season! He also knew what to do with flair players see Tuncay.
