Mine was Lloret de Mar with my parents when I was 15. Went on coach cos my mum had a fear of flying (even though she'd never flown before). Took us 36 fucking hours to get there cos there was port strikes in Calais so we had to go Dover to Zeebrugge and then a detour through Belgium. Good holiday though as there was a problem with our original hotel which meant we were moved to one of the best hotels in Lloret. Also, the 1990 World Cup was on at the time. Only took 24 hours to get back home as well at the end of our holiday! Mine was also lloret when I was 5/6 in the 80's, always remember a local bar showing a pirate copy of the exorcist & jaws. The hotel was called Don Juan

The hotel was called Don Juan I remember the Don Juan mate. It was that massive blue one in the centre of town. We were at the Hotel Olympic which was kind of set back a bit and about 15 min walk to the beach. While there we had a coach trip to Barcelona and got robbed by gypsies. The coach stopped outside that big massive cathedral type building and we got off for a wander and some gypsy lady with flowers offered my younger sister a flower and asked for 1 peseta. Unknown to us at the time and by slight of hand she pinched about 100 quid from my mums purse. It was only 20 mins later when we went to buy ice creams that my parents realised what had happened. Luckily my mum had about 30 quid of my spending money in the bottom of her handbag to see us out the rest of the day but it meant I was unable to spend any money on souvenirs when we visited the Nou Camp!

Correct Don Juan had blue balconies, I don't remember much except getting stuck in the lift etc Two yrs later we went magaluf which is obviously a lot different now,

Mine was camping in France with 4 other navy lads and a mate from Stoke, early 80s, we bought a car from a car auction at Kinross in jockland (based up there at the time) for £35. I had the task of taking the car to Stoke and then onto Dover to meet the rest who were in a car owned by one of the other lads. Went to fill the car up just outside Edinburgh only to discover that the petrol tank only held about 3 gallons before petrol started pissing out all over the forecourt Got off to a bad start the night before our departure from Stoke when I got locked up for fighting outside The Place, we were supposed to meet in Dover at 2 pm but I didn't get out of Hanley copshop until 5. Anyroad we finally got to France and proceeded to make our way (slowly) to the South of France. On the way down the car's suspension went on one side, the clutch and the brake started to play up and the exhaust kept falling off! Driving through the Alps was quite an experience with all the problems the car had, all my passengers had their doors open ready to bail out if we looked like going over the edge On the way back we discovered one of the tyres was fucked so we paid (iirc) about £40 to get it changed, driving through London at about 2 in the morning we got pulled over by the police (there were sparks coming from under one of the wings) who told us in no uncertain terms that the car would be taking no further part in our journey, was quite sad watching 'her' get towed away One of the funniest things that happened was that my mate was dying for a piss while we were queuing for the ferry - I refused to get out of the queue so he had to piss in some of those little Stella bottles. We thought it would be quite fun to slip the one of the bottle's top back on and put the bottle in the crate of stella the other lads had in their car. All 3 of them ended up tasting it while we were parked up in the ferry terminal before they realised what it was they were drinking ???
