Short piece on SSN about players training at Jamie Lawrence's academy to be in better shape for per season.
He said there is a new gaffer and he wants to impress
Good stuff

Does anyone know if this lad is any good?
He's just 18 and spent a few months on loan at Scunthorpe, which sounds promising, is he one that could break into the first team in a few years time?
Look like he wants it and has his head screwed on.

When he was first here as a 16 year old he looked like a dreadful footballer but had a knack of scoring. He went to Celtic and it didn't work out, came back to us last year and his all round game now is much better and in U-18 and U-21 football at least he still has that knack of scoring. He may never be a good enough footballer for the Premier League but I think he can have a good go at it.

It is compulsary when talking about Jamie Lawrence to use the prefix "ex-convict"

One thing is for certain. As you'd expect, Hughes can sniff out a striker from miles away.
If there's something there, he'll see it.

Ironically I was reviewing some old football recordings just the other day and watched a game between our u18s and Man United at Carrington. The game ended two each with James scoring both our goals with close range fox in the box type finishes. His goal celebrations were something different!! Also features a stream of bollox kings from our keeper for James who continually gave the ball away near the end when we were holding out for a point that underlines your point about his all round game.
