Not sure why, but I'm not feeling it for Pieters. I'd say we won't go for/get him. I haven't read much encouraging stuff on him, to be fair, Jim. He doesn't seem to be a particularly popular or rated player in Holland, for what it's worth. Whether we could do better, who knows? If he's not rated, how come he's 1st choice LB for the national side? Rated or not, he's go to be better than any FB we currently have in the squad, surely? At least, being Dutch he'll be comfortable on the ball and able to pass the thing.

I'm another that wants Andreas Cornelius, Seen a few games he has been in and he looks to be a quality player, whatever league you are in a great finish is a great finish!
the goal about a minute in is a fantastic team goal and just beautiful to watch btw, so keep an eye out for that one!
personally hope we sign him, we can get him cheap he might be one of the few stoke players to be purchased that has a resale value too!

Hoilett - a no brainer: 23, fast, powerful, versatile, good relationship with our manager, hopefully a bit more humble after QPR experience.
Pieters - starting at centre back today for Holland in a friendly and suggests that may be his position in the future, less technically gifted than many Dutchmen, but that will not be exposed in England, big and strong, if price about 3m not a bad option for left back/centre back.
Cornelius - has impressed in Denmark, but the level of football is not great, a bit of a gamble so depends on how much he would cost, not sure ready for starting role but could learn English game off bench this season. I would prefer Wilfried Bony or Jose Altidore if we are looking to sign a first choice striker.

Some impressive goals in there. He's got a great touch and although I agree that he would be a gamble he could be worth a punt.

This type of lazy reporting pisses me off. 1. Stoke's 'traditional style' is not long ball. We've played long ball for a few years recently under Pulis (and maybe some other recent managers) but to call it our traditional style when we're talking about less than ten years out of 150 is complete hogwash. 2. 'Change Stoke's philosophy'. WTF?! I don't think PC and the rest of the board are philiosophically wedded to the idea of direct hoofball, not necessarily are the players. It was TP, end of. And he's gone. 3. 'Rory Delap was key to Pulis' direct approach'.Yeah right. Is that the same Rory Delap who hardly played for us last season and figured in less than half our games the season before? 4. 'Hughes cleared out the coaching staff'. I was under the impression that they all resigned before Hughes was appointed and had been gone for several days before he turned up. Well said

Cornelius is a great prospect, but he's not ready to be our main striker yet. As Jezza suggest, an established striker plus Cornelius would be ideal.

And he's a Dutch international to boot. We should be frothing at the mouth Heitinga, Bouma, Oojer, Vlaar - all Dutch international defenders, all have looked suspect at times / disappointed slightly overall in the Premier League.
