Brilliant video. Great days. Thanks Morning Mist.
What made those throw-ins so deadly was our players' movement, especially Ric, Mama and Ryan - they knew where the ball was going and attacked it; the opposing defenders had no clue where to stand to defend it.
Shame they figured out a way to defend it eventually, but it was fantastic while it lasted.

Thank you, Rory. True LEGEND.
Statue of Rory, arms in the air in a just-launched-a-throw pose, outside the Brit.
Statue of a football, in the back of the net. Preferably at the Emirates.

Shame they figured out a way to defend it eventually, but it was fantastic while it lasted. The thing is that no one could defend it while Mama was playing for us. The set piece double act of Mama and Rory was pure genius. It was only with Mama's demise that it's effectiveness diminished. That goal to beat M'boro was so typical. Inch perfect from Rory, good header from Ryan, but there was Mama somehow holding back 5 defenders on the edge of the 6 yard box.

Cracking video. I'll never forget the Rory throw to Mama against Villa and the mental that followed! Also his goal against Chelsea stands out....what a shame we couldn't hold on for a least a point! Oh and his throw destroying Arsenal several times Legend!

The humble throw-in became a lethal weapon and teams tried all sorts to prevent Rory from launching one. Well done Rory. You are a Legend

it always made me laugh when a goalkeeper ran out to get the ball with a stoke player after him, he had a choice to kick it out for a corner or a throw in - he chose to give a corner

That throw against Everton, when Jagielka scored an O.G, was fooking monsterous in terms of distance.
He did more to put us on the map than any other player in my lifetime

Legend for ever simple as. What a shame however yet again no farewell allowed so a true send off to remember could be given :-( Add Fuller, Faye and many others to that list now, including dare i say it the capped one himself.

I think the term 'Legend' is overused by football fans.
With that said, Rory Delap is without doubt a Stoke City Legend. He put Stoke on the map and was a graceful footballer who's ability to intercept play was far better than many gave him credit for.
