Rory, can't really say enough about the man. What a way to repay the faith shown in him when he broke his leg. His signing, along with Diao, Hendrie & Berger was the turning in the tide for Stoke, it gave us some glamour and some attention. His role in keeping us up, especially that first season was immense, and it could be highly debated that without him, we may have gone down that first season....we'd have certainly had to find another way to score goals!
Mama, not the most gifted player, but you can't ever knock is work rate, and i bet if you asked the defenders that faced him, they would all say he was a massive pain in the dick to play against. He was the perfect foil for Fuller, they just worked. Like Sturridge & Sheron, Cooke & Thorne and Bertie & Steino. His goals, although they were few and far between, more often than not we're crucial goals that won us points. The two against Bristol City, the last minute winner vs Villa, the only goal against WBA near christmas at home. The contribution from the lad was massive and he should be remembered for that!
Deano, again not the most technically gifted player, but again has played a massive part in establishing us in the premier league. he's got the odd goal here and there as well, most notable the one he scored away in Tel-Aviv. Deano was a very useful central midfielder for us, breaking up play, running his cock off....his silly free kicks, and inevitable yellow cards we're a large source of frustration at times, but again he has always done what was asked of him in a stoke shirt, and never caused problems or moaned when not in the side.
All 3 have played a big part in this clubs fortunes over the last 7 years (mama's been here since 06!) and all 3 move on with my greatest respect and thanks for everything they achieved, and everything they gave in the Red & White of Stoke City FC

I'm quite surprised Maxwell has gone. He's very well regarded in his field, I would have thought we'd have kept a hold of him. Hopefully Hughes has someone equally as good lined up if not better.

Good riddance the lot of em An unbelievable quote from anyone but this bloke, it's an idiotic comment. Thanks especially to Rory, Mama and Deano, all played massive parts in us remaining where we are today.

Thankyou for all you have done, particularly Mama and Rory.
When Rory had the totally awful experience of a broken leg in his first game noone would have guessed how sucessful his career here would go on to be.

Goodbye Deano.
Your facial features provided me with some of the only moments of genuine entertainment throughout a largely joyless 2012/13 season. For that – and for accidentally throwing yourself into Pepé Reina's cock – I thank you and I'll miss you a lot.

Rory and Mama played a massive part in our recent history, our promotion to the Prem and securing our status once there too. Furthermore they were the ultimate professionals. Never rocked the boat, never sulked when left out. Just gave there all for the club whenever selected and played with a smile on their face too. I can't understand any negativity towards either of them. All the best lads. Thanks for the memories. Absolutely correct - that first season in the Prem especially was magic and those two were magnificent. As someone else said Rorys throws not only brought results they gave us a character and put us on the map. Mama may not have scored many but he caused havoc from which others profited - I can see him now holding back three or four defenders from a corner and making space for Ryan to head home against Middlesbrough, a win that pretty much secured another season. And that incisive run down the wing and pinpoint cross for Rory (I think) to slide home against Arsenal was a highlight of the season.

One the highlights I remember from Pennant was at home v Wet Sham i think it was, when he was sent into space down the right wing, but the ball was over hit slightly forcing JP into a sprint. The cross he put in for KJ to nod in was unbelievable, he ran full tilt to keep the ball from going out of play and put the ball right under the crossbar at the back post!
Rory, Deano and Mama all go with massive thanks. And will always get a good reception back at Stoke!

I will miss Mama - one of my favourite players of recent years - great partnership with Fuller Indeed. Very important cog in our promotion wheel. Bristol City goals spring to mind and he was unbeatable (yeah, really unbeatable) in the air at one point, against any defender from any league. As already pointed out by someone too - Rory Delap put this football club on the world map. We were just scruffy little Stoke City until the press were all over his throw. We took confidence from this and haven't really looked back. Not to mention the hearde from a Delap long throw to give us a 1-0 win at Norwich and the third at home to Saints which turned out to be the winner. Mama didn't get many that season but they were all valuable. Same goes for our first season in the Prem.

If i was Dean whitehead I'd have a real gripe. Always shown 100% commitment to the club, pretty much in the team for most games. And there being talk about pennant being given another contract. Disgusting!

'and Ricardo Fuller sealed the win with an injury-time shot.' Blimey, the media have always had it in for Stoke, haven't they? Hardly just a shot. Where's the mention of the 60 odd yard dribble before the shot, oh and the assist (the peno Diao almost gave away )

Still won't be changing my username until Messi signs A record of Mama's first 23 goals for Stokeand his last 3 .... 2008/20096-12-08. Newcastle 2-2 Stoke. HT 2-0. Stoke improved after the break and halved the deficit when Sidibe converted Fuller's square ball. 2009/105-1-10. Stoke 3-2 Fulham. Sidibe latched onto Higginbotham's clever flick on and smashed the ball into the roof of the net with a clinically taken half volley for Stoke’s third goal – HT 3-0. 6-2-10. Stoke 3-0 Blackburn. Right on the stroke of half time, the Potters doubled their advantage when Etherington’s sublime ball into the six-yard box was turned into the back of the net by Sidibe - fresh from agreeing a new long term deal. SIDIBE FOR PRESIDENT #42

I still reckon that Rory has a lot to offer, and would have loved to see us offering a coaching role to him.
Some of the best moments of my 30 + years of supporting Stoke, were watching Rory make the some of the best defenders/goalkeepers in the world turn to jelly, because of him taking a throw in.
What will the Donna Louise Trust do without T.P and Rory?

My favourite Delap memory has to be the Hull keeper choosing to put the ball out for a corner rather than a face a throw in from Delap. A brilliant moment and highlighted just how dangerous that set piece was for our first season.
And Sidibe would either be vs Bristol City in our promotion season or the winner vs Villa for our first Prem win.
No particular moment standing out for Deano, just lots of hard work and professionalism. Something I wish many other footballers would show.

We are the 2nd club on Pennant's 'long service' list (78 appearances), just 3 behind Liverpool (where he played 81 times). He really has never settled wherever he's been.
