Anyone pick up the snippets from Redknapp on SSN with regard to QPR's transfer policy?
He mentioned that he wanted total control of the transfer policy, incoming and outgoing and that if he didn't get it, he might not be there come next season.
Particularly interesting given that we could understand that to mean that other people are making the decisions on incoming players and forcing a manager to work with players that others have bought it.
Maybe, in some way, this can allay some of fears about Mark Hughes time at QPR given that he is lambasted for the players he brought in yet it may not actually have been him who bought them in all along.
We can but hope that QPR is such a shambles of a club, led by a chairman whose ego is bigger than the club he owns, that it truly is no reflection on Mark Hughes ability to manage our own club.
All the early signs (his record pre-QPR, comments of both Hughes and Coates in the Press Conference and now this latest snippet from Redknapp) are good.
Looking forward to the 19th June and the announcement of the new fixtures, then to pre-season and then to the season proper.

I don't know if you saw that documentary last year on QPR Dave? The amount of interference from the board towards the manager and who he picked was incredible. It made TP's problems with 'Triggy and Ziggy' look positively petty by comparison, and if that has carried on with the likes of Colin Wanker, Hughes and Redknapp you can see why they have problems.

I'm inclined to believe Hughes agent who was recently quoted as saying "Julio Cesar was Hughes only signing"

Hughes is definitely not blameless, but it's a difficult environment to work in. Ask Dirty 'Arry. Hughes biggest mistake was to take the job and not see those car boot salesmen for whg they were. Michael Dawson turned down a move there based on the level of fuckwittery he witness from the owners there. Hughes should've done the same. It was big bucks though. I'm very pleased with Hughes. I feel we're very unlikely to go down with him in charge. With a poyet, Martinez, RDM, etc...I wouldn't say that.

I didn't see it nor did I see the comments from Hughes agent about Cesar being his only signing.
I am getting more confident that Mark Hughes really is the man for us having been pretty confident before it was even mooted that we would be in for him.

You don't think this anything to do with the fact that they have run out of "Brown Envelopes" in Harry's house do you?

Cesar is wank
If this is true then it's even worse...Hughes should have had the backbone to walk out.

Proven track record (QPR and man city aside- but who was buying the players). Playing style can work with some of the players we have. Has bought players from foreign markets. I expect a more balanced team. More pace. More positive. That's all i really want, and it wouldn't have happened under TP.

I'm inclined to believe Hughes agent who was recently quoted as saying "Julio Cesar was Hughes only signing" If I recall correctly, Hughes´s agent (the guy with the strange name !) said that Cesar was the only signing made by QPR that was a player that he represented as an agent also. This followed accusations that all their signings were influenced by him or of players "managed" by him as an agent. If what Redknapp has said really does point to influence over the manager and their signings at QPR then that would maybe give some clarity to Hughes commenting on the fact that he could have said things about QPR after he was sacked but that he has kept his own counsel. Does make you think that there is more happening at QPR tan maybe meets the eye. Whatever the full story, I hope for our sake that Hughes has learnt all lessons that he could learn from his time there and only uses his good learnings with us at Stoke.

Dave, I love how you're grabbing every opportunity to 'big up' our new manager. It's almost as if you were in on his appointment. And who should follow you to knock Hughes down a peg or two? None other than Merkin. I look forward to the dialogue between the two of you as the season progresses.

Whenever there was a discussion about TP's successor he would put Hughes forward. H

Yes that'll teach me to believe everything that the bear pit brittanina posts on facebook. But having done a bit of googling it seems he's taken what the agent said about himself and twisted it.

Eh...I'm in the 'put blind faith in Hughes because I'm sick of all the Man U and City fans taking the piss' club too
..just that mine is with 'blind faith with a hint of realism'
Rob Green got to replace that Cesar for a couple of games...that shows how utter wank he was

How is Cesar shit?
Over 300 appearances for Inter, Champions League winner, 5 Serie A titles, 3 Italian Cups and that's without mentioning anything away from Inter or the national team.

I don't doubt the truth of it, but it looks like 'Arry is carrying out Phase One of his exit strategy.
