I don't think the transfer fee is the issue anymore. Its the prospect of making money when resold or at least not losing shit loads on the deal and getting value out of the player in terms of game time. Thats it though isnt it. He's younger than nzonzi, better than nzonzi. 10 million would be a good investment and peter will see we can turn a healthy profit.

Does he play in the cage?

I can't see us getting near him, he was touted for United a month or so ago. Not a chance sadly! I'd rather we tried to unearth our own for less than £10m anyway.

Box to box midfielder who can play a bit.
Think massively upgraded Samba Diakite.

1. He is a defensive midfielder 2. No player in Scotland is worth anywhere near £10m 3. In the last year of his contract 4. SPL stands for Sunday Park League because that is what it is these days 5. NZonzi is twice the player this guy is If we were to sell N'Zonzi I would expect to buy a replacement with potential with a lot of spare cash left over to fund another transfer. Wanyama's brother plays for Inter and he is supposed to be better. He is not rated in Italy and has been a huge disappointment spending most of his time on the bench. We are best to stay clear of anyone priced at £10m in Scotland. Very few players make it in the prem and some have gone for extortionate fees.

Wanyama would be a very good signing for us; even at £10 million. Would work very well with N'Zonzi in the centre. But we'll face a similar problem with him as with N'Zonzi; keeping hold of him. If we can live with that; bring him in.
Also, I think Celtic will be OK about Wanyama leaving. They have plenty of cover in his position.
I'd like us to bring in Hooper as well.

A 6 foot 2 defensive midfielder who plays at centre back in a third rate league signing for a big fee?
Are you sure we've got a new manager?

scotpotter: he was brilliant against barcelona in the champs league, if he can play like that regularly, 10 mill is the veritable snip.

FM, that second story about arsenal from the Scottish sun just loads up the same story as the first one from the herald. Have the sun just gone with that headline because of Ramsey's quotes?

Realistically, what type of fee could we get for N'Zonzi? If we were in for Wanyama, would the N'Zonzi fee cover the bulk of it? We'd get more than we paid for him. Probably £5 million - or £7 million if we strike lucky?

We should concentrate on unearthing our own gems. They paid £900,000 and are seeking £9m profit! I never trust Scottish League valuations.

I suspect he's out of our league, literally and metaphorically. Plus if it is true that he has been on Manure and Arse's radar, we won't stand a chance unless their attention turns elsewhere and we are left as the only club with the spondulicks to prise him away from Celtic. Our best bet would be to find a couple of players from abroad (real abroad, not Scotland) who other clubs have not picked up on. Hughes was good at that kind of thing in his Blackburn & Fulham days.

Nzonzi isn't fit to lace this guys boots. Wanyama is an outstanding talent. Can create, score, tackle has bags of skill and is an all round excellent player. Nzonzi is an overrated tit who is yet to master the art of passing the ball forwards. Hes great at passing it backwards and sidewards 2 yards mind! I know someone else who is great at that...first name Glenn

I would prefer our agents found the likes of this guy from Belgium, Holland etc for ourselves than fork out 10m on someone who has spent 2 years at by far the biggest club in a very piss poor league.
Too much of a gamble at that price for me.

Always hard to judge players at Celtic & Rangers (pre 2012) especially & players in that league generally as the standard is not high. Doesn't mean they are all crap, just hard to tell. Wanyama has played well in the Champions League as well which is a good sign I think.
