WELL what can i say at first i saw that bloke with a van with Hughes out and i said to my wife i dont know about Hughes out, i would of put no Hughes is good news, but after hearing him today, i have warmed to him, and think this could be another pc master/ stroke, just like when he bought in the capped one, i think all stoke fans should give him a chance, i liked how how he came out and said i made mistakes at QPR

I have to say, that initially, Hughesy didn't fill me with enthusiasm when I heard the rumours. But, the more I've looked at his career, and how he's set his teams up, then he is without doubt a good fit. I think PC has played a master stroke, he can see how Hughesy can develop and evolve us over time, and it won't be a radical shift in style immediately, because that is both expensive & risky. I think he has a massive point to prove, and will be VERY motivated, so I'm really positive with this appointment. Plus, with him being a top player in his day, then he will raise the profile of the club, purely because of who he is, which will make it easier to attract other players, especially from abroad. I also find it very easy to support someone who dislikes Arsene Wenger almost as much as I do!

I think Ange knows who my first choice was but I have to admit my memory was selective about Sparky, his QPR problem stuck out. Having thought about it and compared his record elsewhere, I reckon he is exactly what we need. His manner in the interview was very encouraging and I cannot wait for the season to start. Arry didn't do that much at QPR so there is obviously a problem there.

I agree that with Hughes as manager, the club a have the potential to attract a wider range of players. He needs to be given every chance and to get the fans onside - he needs to smile a bit more too!

Joe. I posted on another thread, Richard keys said on talksport that Hughes shouldn't be judged too harsh regarding QPR as there were things going on there which he hopes will come out but he doubts it.
Harry actually had a worse record than Hughes there, and obviously there were things there that weren't right.

In his interview, I thought he mentioned new signings and the importance of not delaying signing players as they become available - so no more 11th hour signings on deadline day!
Hopefully he can start to build a squad (retaining quite a few of our current squad if they want to stay) BEFORE the start of the season

It would do Stoke City the world of good to give a general release to the video of the press conference instead of trying to make money out of it.

If Hughes has been spending some time thinking of potential players that he could bring (to whichever club would be his next one,) then this may have impressed PC and co.
On the point of club captain, if N'Zonzi and Adam stay then I think that Ryans confidence will be undermined.
Depending on who comes in , I would favour Adam at this point in time (tin hat on)
