I thought i'd give you a QPR fans perspective of mark hughes... Without being obvious our season went down the pan from day #1 vs swansea. We had real high hopes after we stayed up and once we signed players like park, cisse, granero, nelson, hoillet, cesar, mbia, johnson etc.. we was on cloud nine as nobody thought we'd struggle as badly as we did. The problem however came in many forms. Our board gave mark hughes full control over player recruitment and infrastructure of the club.. on paper everything sounded amazing - we had mike rigg sorting out our infrastructure and hughes saying we'll be building for the future etc etc etc.. What actually happened is hughes agent Kia Joorabchian basically mugged fernandes off with below par players & hughes ripped out the spine of the team - kenny, barton, derry, hill which doesnt really say much in terms of talent but having leaders on the pitch was vital for us. Instead hughes replaced them with granero, nelson, hoillet, cesar, mbia & park and in all honesty the only leader there was nelson who left after january when we was all but down. I highly doubt you'll ever feel like hughes is one of your own.. Rangers fans never took to him regardless what he did and everything about it sounded a bit lonesome. What al fayed said about hughes was pretty much spot on.. i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02035/full-letter_2035614a.jpgI do however believe he will keep you up and fighting as he had a similar approach on paper with blackburn. a team which are hard to score against and very physical. The players will be in 100% condition thats for sure. Just start to worry when hughes sells some of your core pulis players and brings in his people who will only be there for the money. Especially when Kia Joorabchian starts getting his nose in.. Oh I also notice some of you would take a swap for hoilett & crouch We'd snap your hands off as he has been very poor. he's on about 60k a week and goes missing often. Best of luck

The best shot stopper in the prem.. but the worst goalkeeper when it came to kicking or claiming crosses. Didnt really help himself when he put a chelsea kit on a few days after we was relegated.

I'd be surprised if Kia Joorabchian was allowed anywhere near us mate. This! I think we are a bit too long in the tooth for this to happen, certainly if it was going to be detrimental to the club, PC wouldn't have it!

What I meant mate was that he won't be negotiating transfers etc as we have a new guy in already to do that and Pulis didn't like it one little bit.
As for the Fayed letter I'd suggest that he's being disingenuous himself when he says they wanted Jol all along. I guess we can all spit our dummies out or piss further than the next man but in the end he's at Stoke and we have to give him a chance. We have a Chairman who is more resolute than Fayed and Fernandes and possesses a little more integrity methinks.

I thing the problem at qpr hasnt been about the management its been about the owners having no idea how to run a football club. Bit like the Venkeys at Blackburn. Thankfully we are at the other end of the scale in that area

Oh and if hughes doesnt like somebody in the squad personal or not.. he really does make an example of them and he done that to about 5/6 warnock players we bought and it created the divide in our dressing room that basically killed us.

Pulis lost the confidence of the board partly as a result of his cockups in the transfer market , Cartwrights job will be to ensure it doesn't happen again . Hughes will have been told this in no uncertain terms

It is the Fulham walk out which is far more disturbing than the Q.P.R. fiasco. Mo Fayeed has kept to his word and The Riverside area is to be rebuilt. So, one can judge who is the honourable man. We will have to hope that things turn out fine here. The incentive of not failing three times in a row is indeed a very big one!

Quite a lot of it. We avoided the Joorabchian unpleasantness at least and he did give us a couple of good seasons and some great performances. The players weren’t really in great condition, certainly by the end. The has-been wasters stuff was bob on though in the end.

The players were no where near in good condition, in fact, it was the total opposite. But everything else you said was right.

He just went on too long. The ideal time to get rid was the end of last season. For some reason only a few people know the club decided to keep him Overall we did have some bloody great times with Mark Hughes. People choose to forget that though.

He gave us some of the best Stoke City performances in the last 40 odd years. We were very close to a cup final and pushing on to the mythical next level, we dared to dream. Then it went to rat shit. The End......

Pretty accurate except for the 100% condition part. The squad this season couldn’t do 2 halves of football because the fitness levels were nowhere near. He seems to be a decent manager with previous managers signings but completely screws it up when he brings in his own

Was anything of what I said true about hughes? Anybody care to describe his influence on stoke? I always feel as if he leaves a lasting impression of the clubs he leaves in terrible condition. It went tits up, Gary. He was fine at first, inheriting a strong dressing room with a good foundation to build on. The quality of football improved and he added to the grit with finesse with the likes of Arnie, Moses, Shaqiri, and Bojan. The problems started when the old guard had to be replaced, he/ they simply couldn’t do it and they’ve spunked some serious money up the wall in the process. Teams now an absolute mess and unrecognisable from the slick and dangerous unit we saw tear both Manchester teams apart only two seasons ago. Christ knows what happens now... we are as likely to drop again as we are to get promoted.
