Why dont we consider Glenn Hoddle ? Past England Manager who plays very good football. Tactically very smart who was a brillant football player who would command respect from the players. It would be a big shock for him to come back into management but I think his appointment would unite our supporters.

If you hold your nose and put his baggage to one side he would be a manager who'd tick all the boxes the club seem to want. Trouble is very few people are willing for this appointment to be purely a footballing decision and thats an enourmous problem.

Because he was supposedly an arrogant f**cker with the England squad. Had frustration that England internationals couldn't do with the ball that he could at his age, so imagine him with our lot.

He was a very impressed TV pundit when we beat Liverpool on Boxing day but for me his ship has sailed.

I've read that he struggled to manage those who were less talented than him, including Beckham and Scholes. Who knows what he'd make of Dean Whitehead?

DON'T! Just please fuckin don't. This shit just ain't funny anymore. Don't tell me now you're trying to argue that Glenn Hoddle does not have a far superior footballing pedigree than Tony fookin Pulis. As a player and a manager the blokes been at the very top of the game. Yes he's a complete fookin odd ball who's been foolish enough to air some of his own very peculiar views in public and that has blighted his career but on a purely football basis there a very few if any in the running who's pedigree, knowledge and ability compare.

I actually read out a telegram from Glenn Hoddle at my brothers wedding and I know from personal experience he's a really, really nice bloke. You can't discriminate on "religious" grounds. That's the same as sexism or racism.
That said, I watched the Champions League final on Abu Dhabi TV the other night and he was a pundit with Venables and Shearer with Lineker presenting and he did have a Sergeant Wilson-esque demeanour.
Oh, and for the record El Tel was a fucking joke. Talk about a dinosaur and Lineker shows more character in one of his crisp adverts. Shearer was actually quite sensible with a few decent comments.

It most certainly is not. Ridiculous, hateful ideas deserve to be ridiculed, whether they're religious or not.
