I've no idea why, because I think he's been a fairly useless manager, but this is nice.

I'd have sacked him after they won the league. They wasted a season with him, it's clear he's a European choker and that's where Man City need success now. They've made the right call and imo were too slow with it. Not sure Pellegrini is the man to take them forward though.

Hmmm I think that's a bit harsh Bayern. he was in a group with the Dutch, German and Spanish champions, Ajax, Dortmund, Madrid, two of which made it to the semi's. Utd failed in a much easier group the year before and that wasn't ascribed to choking. I think they should have waited out this season with Mancini, what with Utd being at their most unstable for over 20 years. Pellegrini means a complete change in style and personnel too, and sacking Mancini and all his staff reduces transfer funds. Also, last summer when Utd signed RVP he was given Rodwell, Sinclair, Maicon... I think he should have been backed a bit more convincingly. That said, if its true players were going to quit the club if he stayed on then maybe the situation was just untenable

With the side they have they should have at least made a better fist of it, they've got European experience so I don't buy that bull. Mancini choked in Europe with Inter and did the same with Man City. I really don't think he can argue with being sacked. It's clear they didn't trust him then so they should've sacked him then.

After all the years of failure, at least Citeh fans have respect for someone who brought them success. I find all this stuff about billionaires sacking people as soon as they lose 3 matches pathetic. There's not a lot of loyalty or respect left in football and if the fans didn't show it to a manager who'd put them back at the top, why should managers or players bother to show it back?

Not only did he win the league, he won it in the best way possible. People will be talking about that final day for years and years!

I'm confused as to why Citeh fans hail him as their Mourinho, the duration of his tenure was woefully mediocre. Small time fans.

yeah, in 3 years he managed 2 cups and their first top flight Championship honours in over 40 years....fairly useless With the equivalent of a football manager cheat code. They should be walking the league with what they've got at their disposal and instead they nearly lost one title to a pretty average Man Yoo team and then did just that the next year - while losing the cup final to a team that ended up relegated. He was holding them back.
