Never agreed with the signing - a least suited player to Pulisball, particulalry at this stage in his career, I cannot imagine - but at his peak he was one of the few truly world class players we have produced in England over the last 20 years.
Fantastic response by the Stoke fans yesterdsay but I cannot find any media outlet where Pulis acknowledged Owen or the career he had had. If true shows that Pulis has even less class than I thought he had!

Yesterday was one of the few times I've been embarrassed to be a Stoke fan. It was cringeworthy to hear his name shouted by so many.

He was never going to be any cop for us was he? His pace is gone, he has no physicality to his game, so what is left is a penalty box goal poacher in a team who create the fewest chances in the league and expect their forwards to create for themselves - complete incompatibility. It makes the signing ridiculous, but even once we had him I never really wanted him to come on as a sub.
